Primary Duties & Responsibilities
The below list of duties and responsibilities is meant to cover a wide range of operational areas and technical levels and as such, some of these may not apply to your area of operation (location) and/or your current technical level (Trainee through Telecom Tech IV). Your supervisor will provide clear direction on what duties are expected of you and will provide a detailed path for career growth opportunities.
Install new Broadband services, including but not limited to; video service, wireless, internet, cable modem, DSL, telephony, and FTTx services.
Responds to service orders for troubles, upgrades, removals, or changes to a customer's residential or business broadband services, which includes key systems, telephony, video, internet, and FTTx.
Ensures that all service orders, troubles, and locates that are assigned to him/her are closed out daily.
Installs ONT's, jacks, pedestals, terminals, splitters, taps, protectors, and grounding.
Ensure company inventory is maintained and reported for items utilized by technician.
Maintain timesheets, vehicle records, company issued test equipment and any company property/equipment.
Performs routine office maintenance and/or repairs on equipment (such as, batteries, alarms, air filters and general fluid levels) and follows procedures for maintaining site logs and records.
Responsible for locating fiber, coax, telephone and marking cable routes.
Splices and repairs new and existing telecommunication cable.
Climbs poles & towers to install or repair telecommunication lines and facilities.
Troubleshoots malfunctioning telecommunication cables using testing devices such as meters and analyzers, to locate and the diagnose nature of the problem and make repairs.
If applicable, changes out Cable Television (CATV) headend equipment, such as, but not limited to, receivers, video ciphers, modulators, and scramblers.
If applicable, troubleshoots from the house to the headend, such as, but not limited to, amplifiers, line extenders, bridges, and power insertions.
Installs, tests, maintains, and repairs advanced telecommunication services, such as, but not limited to, DDS, XDSL, and T1.
Performs the installation, operations, maintenance, testing, and provisioning of Central Office equipment from various manufacturers.
Has a basic understanding of the technology behind; Wide Area Network equipment, protocols and services, Fiber Optic systems and equipment including OC-1, OC-3 OC-12, Sonet, CWDM and DWDM.
Has a basic understanding of computer network protocols and equipment, such as but not limited to Routers, Switches, Ethernet, SMTP, IMAP, and SNMP.
Operates equipment such as, but not limited to, backhoes, trenchers, cable plows and dozers.
Installs, operates, and maintains radio systems, such as, but not limited to, microwave, UFH, VFH and BETRS where applicable.
Completes specialized reports, logs, and reports as required.
Responds to ASR's and is responsible for coordinating and/or performing Engineering, Installation and Provisioning of the basic equipment to fulfill an ASR.
Understanding how all departments contribute to the success of the organization and referring customers and employees to the appropriate department to best fulfill their needs.
Perform “Lead Technician” duties, such as but not limited to, mentoring less experienced technicians, act as job or crew lead on projects, assisting area supervisor as requested.
Performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications
At a minimum, the Telecom Technician must have high school Diploma, or equivalent, along with a valid driver's license. Previous telecommunications and/or customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities:

Test repaired, newly installed, or updated equipment to ensure that it functions properly and conforms to specifications, using test equipment and observation.
Repair or replace faulty equipment such as defective and damaged telephones, wires, switching system components, and associated equipment.
Remove and remake connections to change circuit layouts, following engineering plans, work orders or diagrams.
Demonstrate equipment to customers and explain how it is to be used, and respond to any inquiries or complaints.
Analyze test readings, computer printouts, and trouble reports to determine equipment repair needs and required repair methods.
Adjust or modify equipment to enhance equipment performance or to respond to customer requests.
Run appropriate power, ground, or coaxial cables.
Install all necessary transmission equipment components, including antennas or antenna mounts, surge arrestors, transmission lines, connectors, or TMAs.
Conduct yourself safely at all times, ensure a safe area for others, and complete required training, assessments and reports timely.

This position will be based out of Assai plant and requires travel to Archaea plants within the region.
Key accountabilities Works closely with the plant operations team in the troubleshooting, installation, maintenance, and repair of plant equipment.
Repair, replace, and adjust malfunctioning equipment to restore proper operating conditions specified in regulations and repair manuals.
Responsible for the general upkeep and maintenance of all facilities and equipment as needed.
Tests and calibrates, to established industry standards, equipment such as pressure and temperature transmitters, valve positioners, pneumatic controllers, electronic controllers, pressure and temperature switches and other process control equipment.
Records equipment readings, interprets abnormal readings and alarms to take pre-designated corrective action including activation of emergency equipment and procedures.
Performs equipment inspections to ensure that the equipment is safely maintained and operable; performs related testing and repair as needed.
Calibrates electronic instrumentation, verifies, and adjusts equipment tolerances and records results on calibration checklists.
Performs work orders for inspections and both preventive and corrective maintenance in accordance with company procedures.

Crown is hiring Full-Time ElectronicsTechnician in Anchorage, Alaska to join our team of floating electronics installers. This position is 25% travel throughout the state of Alaska and with a workspace out of Anchorage. Monday - Thursday 6 am-4:30pm.This position requires a level of confidence to work in geographic isolation, so the candidate must have the technical knowledge and aptitude to create solutions in unique situations. Although each installation is unique, typical duties include:

Install new or upgraded conduit and cable trays.
Remove and replace antennas as required.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Electronics Degree or at least 5 years of related experience installing/fabricating Military, Federal, or Commercial Radio electronic equipment or fiber optic cable.
Experience installing/fabricating FAA National Airspace (NAS) communications systems, cabling, and equipment.
Working knowledge of VHF and UHF AM radios, including software, alignment, and setup of Radio Control Equipment (RCE).
Proficient in the use of manual/power tools and test equipment (multimeter, ohmmeter, power meter, oscilloscope, etc.).
Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Office, and Excel.
Understanding of Telco requirements (Commercial Telco, RCL, Field Cable, Fiber Optics, etc.).
Ability to take electronic baseline readings and generate Facility Reference Data Files (FRDF) per FAA technical handbooks and tolerances.
Experience interfacing with FAA Air Traffic and Technical Operations during radio installations.
Ability to follow engineering packages and implement field changes as required.
Leadership skills to manage multiple installation and/or construction crews, with effective communication to teams and stakeholders.
Strong understanding of electrical and electronic circuitry, with ability to read and implement engineering diagrams and wiring diagrams.
Troubleshooting skills for electrical and electronic equipment in radio replacement and technical refresh projects.
Physically able to stand, sit, or crouch for extended periods, lift/move up to 75 lbs, and move objects up to 350 lbs with hand truck or pallet jack.
Able to climb and work at heights exceeding 60', including tower climbs for installing junction boxes, cabling, antennas, lightning protection, and grounding systems.
Ability to read and interpret schematics and blueprints.
Willingness to occasionally work under severe time constraints with minimal supervision.
Willing to travel up to 25%.
Flexible to work non-standard hours based on site requirements.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities
The below list of duties and responsibilities is meant to cover a wide range of operational areas and technical levels and as such, some of these may not apply to your area of operation (location) and/or your current technical level (Trainee through Telecom Tech IV). Your supervisor will provide clear direction on what duties are expected of you and will provide a detailed path for career growth opportunities.
Install new Broadband services, including but not limited to; video service, wireless, internet, cable modem, DSL, telephony, and FTTx services.
Responds to service orders for troubles, upgrades, removals, or changes to a customer's residential or business broadband services, which includes key systems, telephony, video, internet, and FTTx.
Ensures that all service orders, troubles, and locates that are assigned to him/her are closed out daily.
Installs ONT's, jacks, pedestals, terminals, splitters, taps, protectors, and grounding.
Ensure company inventory is maintained and reported for items utilized by technician.
Maintain timesheets, vehicle records, company issued test equipment and any company property/equipment.
Performs routine office maintenance and/or repairs on equipment (such as, batteries, alarms, air filters and general fluid levels) and follows procedures for maintaining site logs and records.
Responsible for locating fiber, coax, telephone and marking cable routes.
Splices and repairs new and existing telecommunication cable.
Climbs poles & towers to install or repair telecommunication lines and facilities.
Troubleshoots malfunctioning telecommunication cables using testing devices such as meters and analyzers, to locate and the diagnose nature of the problem and make repairs.
If applicable, changes out Cable Television (CATV) headend equipment, such as, but not limited to, receivers, video ciphers, modulators, and scramblers.
If applicable, troubleshoots from the house to the headend, such as, but not limited to, amplifiers, line extenders, bridges, and power insertions.
Installs, tests, maintains, and repairs advanced telecommunication services, such as, but not limited to, DDS, XDSL, and T1.
Performs the installation, operations, maintenance, testing, and provisioning of Central Office equipment from various manufacturers.
Has a basic understanding of the technology behind; Wide Area Network equipment, protocols and services, Fiber Optic systems and equipment including OC-1, OC-3 OC-12, Sonet, CWDM and DWDM.
Has a basic understanding of computer network protocols and equipment, such as but not limited to Routers, Switches, Ethernet, SMTP, IMAP, and SNMP.
Operates equipment such as, but not limited to, backhoes, trenchers, cable plows and dozers.
Installs, operates, and maintains radio systems, such as, but not limited to, microwave, UFH, VFH and BETRS where applicable.
Completes specialized reports, logs, and reports as required.
Responds to ASR's and is responsible for coordinating and/or performing Engineering, Installation and Provisioning of the basic equipment to fulfill an ASR.
Understanding how all departments contribute to the success of the organization and referring customers and employees to the appropriate department to best fulfill their needs.
Perform “Lead Technician” duties, such as but not limited to, mentoring less experienced technicians, act as job or crew lead on projects, assisting area supervisor as requested.
