This position falls under our agreement with the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, AFL-CIO, District Lodge No. 947 and would be subject to the terms of the contract. Description: The Coating Engineering Technician supports both engineering and production tasking in a thin-film coating operation for precision optics. Responsibilities: Execute cable manufacturing operations, trains junior technicians, ensures build compliance, and supports QA inspections. Perform standard cable build, soldering, and testing under supervision Support assembly and testing processes. Review schematics and other technical documentation. Maintain, clean, and perform basic upkeep of equipment. Communicate updates and technical issues to Lead. Education/Experience/Skills: U.S. Citizenship and Active DoD Secret Clearance. Must have IPC/WHMA-A-620 Operator-Level Training. Must have ability to stand, walk, sit, use both hands, and carry/lift to 50 lbs. Must be able to execute installation/lifting of heavy equipment and use of/climbing ladders. Exposure to crimping, soldering, and harness build rework. Capable of learning to read and follow cable drawings and travelers. $25 hr.
