Overview
Blythedale's Infant/Toddler Department is seeking a Unit Medical Secretary. In this role, you will serve as the central communication source for the nursing staff and other interdisciplinary team members, patients, residents, and family members. You will assist the Director of Nursing, Nurse Leaders, Physicians and Nursing Staff, as needed. The Unit Medical Secretary reports to the Director of Nursing, Infant/Toddler.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 3pm-11pm. 37.5 hours per week.
Responsibilities
Communicate effectively and accurately with patients, family members, and colleagues.
Complete detailed work without error and handle several tasks at once.
Greet patients, residents, families and visitors in a friendly and courteous manner.
Answers calls coming through the Hospital's Phone system.
Create and maintain medical records, process patient admissions, transfers, bed holds, and discharges.
Process orders relating to medications, laboratory and diagnostic tests, and treatment plans.
Navigate hospital clinical information systems as needed.
Order supplies and stock unit as need.
Assist in the updating and posting of required documentation for display throughout the hospital.
Assist Nursing Leadership in scheduling.
Cover hospital units as needed.
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of work experience required.
Medical secretary experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
Bilingual speakers (English and Spanish) preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint) and Microsoft Teams required.
Proficiency in Meditech preferred.
Knowledge of common medications and medical terminology required.

Overview
Blythedale is seeking a full-time Social Worker who is responsible for the provision of care management services to medically fragile children in the community through the New York State Health Homes Serving Children (HHSC) program. Responsibilities include coordination of the child's medical care in collaboration with the family, assessment of and assistance with psychosocial issues that impact the child's ability to receive consistent medical care, and the creation and monitoring of a child-centered treatment plan. Responsibilities
Collect detailed medical and psychosocial information through direct meetings with the child, family, and providers.
Complete the CANS-NY and other required assessments thoroughly and in a timely fashion as per NYSDOH HHSC program guidelines.
Develop child-centered plan of care in conjunction with the family and the treatment team that have specific goals and time frames.
Collaborate with clinical service providers to assess potential barriers to care and work with the family to find solutions to ensure quality care.
Explore and recommend community resources, promoting choice whenever possible.

Attend and hold clinical pharmacy meetings such as Medication Safety Committee, P&T, and Antibiotic Stewardship Committee meetings.

Play a critical role in enhancing the education of healthcare and non-healthcare team members on treatments related to pediatric patients.

Under the direction of the nursing leader, the Nurse's Aide assists in performing a variety of duties related to the physical care of the patients, including obtaining report of patient assignments from the RN at the start of the shift and providing meticulous care to each child. Overview
Under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer and the Director of Respiratory Therapy, renders independent, professional cardio-pulmonary care and performs diagnostic procedures on patients/residents in support of their total medical care. Overview
Blythedale Children's Hospital is seeking a pediatric Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our multidisciplinary team as a primary provider on our inpatient pediatrics unit. Patients are referred from acute care NICUs, PICUs, and pediatric inpatient wards, ages spanning from infancy to 21 years old. Average length of stay is 60 days. Conditions you will manage include but are not limited to respiratory failure (acute/non-invasive support as well as chronic/tracheostomy and mechanical ventilation), staged repair of congenital heart disease, traumatic and acquired neurologic conditions, disorders of growth and feeding, and orthopedic rehabilitation. You will play an integral role in both acute and chronic care, medication and device management and titration, as well as care coordination with pediatric subspecialists and discharge planning.
This is a full-time onsite position, reporting to the Medical Director.
Schedule: Four ten-hour shifts (8am-6pm), including six weekends and one holiday per year.
Responsibilities
Manage the clinical care coordination of pediatric patients and educate families through the transition from hospital to home.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, pediatric hospitalists, nursing, medical, and therapy staff to deliver high-quality care.
Assess patient conditions and health needs, including biophysical, psychosocial, environmental, self-care and educational factors.
Complete history/physicals, progress notes, physician orders, discharge plans and prescriptions and other documentation required for the care of the patients.
Participate in parent and team conferences.
Participate in Interdisciplinary Care Planning (IDCP).
Ensures compliance with established objectives, clinical practice, state, federal and Join
Commission regulations and quality medical services.
Serve as a resource to multidisciplinary team and external stakeholders (e.g. parents, guardians and city/state contacts as appropriate).
Cross-cover inpatient, outpatient and long-term care units within the hospital as needed.

Overview
The Hospital Pharmacist is responsible for preparing, dispensing, and monitoring medications to ensure safe, effective, and cost-efficient drug therapy for our pediatric patient population. Schedule includes rotational weekend coverage as well as rotational holiday coverage.
Schedule will also include clinical coverage and staff coverage.

Responsibilities
Reviews medication orders and profiles for allergies, interactions, contraindications, drug incompatibilities, therapeutic duplications and appropriateness of drug therapy.
Regularly consults with prescribers concerning drug availability, formulary status, proper drug use, side effects and incompatibilities. Obtain clarifications or suggestions for changes or additions to medication orders.
Reviews laboratory data and suggests changes to medication therapy when appropriate.

Overview
We are seeking creative and compassionate Creative Art Therapists to join our growing Creative Arts Team, specifically in the domain of Art Therapy and/or Dance/Movement Therapy. The ideal candidate would be skilled in facilitating group interventions, along with individual interventions, for patients, residents and their families. Therapists will play a crucial role in our larger Therapeutic & Developmental Support Services team, ensuring quality family-centered care, alongside our clinical multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities
Facilitate scheduled group program for both our inpatient population as well as residents on our long-term care unit.
Co-Facilitate group interventions within our larger Therapeutic & Developmental Support Services team (Therapeutic Recreation, Child Life and Music Therapy).
Navigate a referral base approach to individual session outreach
Qualifications
Minimum one year of experience working in the pediatric setting in your designated area of expertise.
Education, Licensure, and Certification
Master's Degree in Creative Arts, Art Therapy, Dance/Movement Therapy from an accredited school.
Licensed as a Creative Arts Therapist (LCAT) and/or Board Certified - Dance Movement Therapist required.
Art Therapy Credentials Board Certified (ATR-BC) required.
Physical Requirements
Standing, walking, stooping.
Ability to transfer children and equipment.
Ability to meet flexible scheduling demands and patient care needs.

Overview
Under the direction of the nursing leader, the Nurse's Aide Per Diem Student assists in performing a variety of duties related to the physical care of the patients, including obtaining report of patient assignments from the RN at the start of the shift and providing meticulous care to each child. Per diem nurse's aides are eligible for an evening and night shift differential pay and Certified Nurse's Aide certification pay.
Responsibilities
Maintaining unit and patients' rooms compliant with regulatory agency codes and standards, obtaining, recording, and reporting vital signs to RN.
Changing patients to and from various adaptive equipment as recommended/directed by the therapists or RN, Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
Assisting with or performing treatment procedures that have been predetermined for each patient, feeding or assisting with feeding of patients during meals/snacks,
Assisting patients with diapering/toileting/showers as necessary, repositioning assigned patients to promote skin integrity, muscle tone, and maintain body alignment, maintaining excellent hand hygiene, adhering to precautions as required for each patient
Maintaining professional boundaries and assisting the nurse during emergency situations.
Qualifications
Prior relevant job experience in a pediatric setting preferred.
Weekend & Holiday commitment required.
Education, Licensure, and Certification
High School Diploma or GED.
Certified Nurse's Aide certification preferred.
Certified Nurse's Aide positions require New York State Certification (Long-Term Care).
Physical Requirements
Capability to work long shifts, including nights and weekends, while maintaining a high level of care.
Ability to lift, transfer, and reposition patients safely, often with the aid of equipment like lifts or slings.
Ability to handle and operate medical equipment, as well as perform tasks such as taking vital signs or administering medications.
Needs to be able to perform the following physical activities for most of the time at work: standing, walking, and sitting.
Must be able to move/lift equipment and patients a minimum of 35-40 lbs.
Must exhibit fine motor coordination in the manipulation of biomedical equipment (e.g., thermometers, scissors, etc.)

Overview
We currently have an outstanding opportunity for Respiratory Therapists to join our team, in caring for medically fragile and complex pediatric patients and residents. Blythedale's Respiratory Therapy Department is known for its collaborative and evidence-based approach. Our team of experienced respiratory therapists and residents provides excellent quality care 24/7. We pride ourselves on innovation and excellence, continually seeking the newest technologies and adhering to current clinical guidelines.
Sign-on bonus: Full time respiratory therapists are eligible for a $6,000 sign-on bonus. (This amount is pro-rated for part time RTs. Per diem RTs not eligible for the bonus.)
Position is also eligible for $4/hour night shift differential and critical shift bonus.
Responsibilities
Provide high-quality respiratory care to pediatric patients with complex medical needs.
Serve as a consultant to nurses, physicians, and other healthcare team members.
Ensure that care delivery and clinical protocols reflect evidence-based practices.
Collaborate with the healthcare team to optimize patient outcomes.
Participate in ongoing departmental education and training.
Qualifications
Minimum of two years' experience rendering direct professional cardio pulmonary care in a hospital or healthcare setting, pediatric experience preferred.
Experience in Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) preferred.
Long Term Care experience preferred.
New Graduates with RRT will be considered with References from at least two clinical instructors.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and handle a variable workload.
Working knowledge of computerized software programs.
Night shift schedule (7pm-7:30am), includes weekends, 1 on-call shifts per month, and rotating holidays.
Education, Licensure, and Certification
Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Respiratory Therapy; Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Therapy (BSRT) preferred.
Active New York State Respiratory Therapist license.
Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential through the NBRC.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications through the American Heart Association.
Physical Requirements
On feet most of day patient care/moving high pressure cylinders/equipment.
Lifts supplies/equipment.
Requires visual acuity and manual dexterity to maintain the airway and manually ventilate the patient during Code Blue.
