About This Position:
We are seeking a qualified Project Engineer with 8-15 years' experience to become a part of our growing Highway Design Group for our Albany, Syracuse, and White Plains offices. Our highway engineers work on a variety of projects and interact with traffic engineers, structure engineers and our construction inspection staff.
Responsibilities include:
Developing roadway, trail and sidewalk designs
Intersection design and layout including roundabouts and traffic signals
Checking design calculations prepared by others
Preparation of construction contract documents
Project coordination, report writing and estimating
Direct coordination with clients

Working knowledge of the NYSDOT Highway Design Manual.

Position Purpose:
Under the direction of the Manager Engineering - Lead Program & Special Projects, the Associate Engineer - Lead Program will be assisting in the construction delivery for the Lead Service Line Replacement Program.
This engineer will provide support to the Manager Engineering - Lead Program & Special Projects for the delivery of the $36M 2023 lead service line replacement program, which will result in the annual replacement of 2,600 service lines.
More specifically, the engineer will be provide assistance with work order management, data compilation, analyzing data to generate metrics on a weekly basis, and will assist in response to field-related matters including materials releases, acquisition of information from GIS, and invoice review to ensure appropriate billing.
Incumbent will also generate proper documentation for work order creation and closure. This engineer will provide the assistance needed to the Manager to ensure the successful and quality construction delivery of the LSLR Program.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
Use of company resources including Hexagon, GIS, Google applications, and other electronic applications. This person may be required to perform inspections of new installations or other duties as assigned.
Responsible for the generation of weekly metrics, review and closing of work orders, work order generation, and interfacing with contractors, internal departments, and customers for the efficient and quality delivery of the lead service line replacement program.
Conduct field visits to confirm location of any existing facilities as required.
Field supervision of construction projects.
Work with other departments including Operations, Water Quality, and Customer Service.
Assist engineers in developing analysis and reports to be provided to regulators, internal or external customers as required.
Maintain Key Performance Indicators to track performance and productivity.
Work Environment:
The work environment is typically in an office/field environment but requires periodic inspection of the facilities where the employee will also be occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions and an industrial plant environment which involves moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.

Qualifications
Education/Experience/Background:

Field experience and knowledge related to the construction delivery of water underground utility infrastructure projects.
Experience in Water/Wastewater Engineering is a plus.
Fundamental experience as an Engineer for underground infrastructure projects including service line replacements and distribution main projects.
Familiar with underground construction techniques including open cut and trenchless (pulling or boring) and utility connections and abandonments.
Experience in managing and adhering to project budgets and schedules.
ESRI/GIS experience is a plus.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

We are currently searching for a Water Engineer Intern to support our team in Paramus, NJ. We are looking for dedicated, creative, and energetic candidates interested in tackling challenges and developing sustainable solutions to address water issues. Collaborating with our experienced water professionals, you will support and drive the development of projects, interact, and work with clients, and develop your technical capabilities.
Role accountabilities:
The Water Engineer Intern will possess a strong foundation in engineering concepts and theories related to climate resilience and stormwater management. You will need to have technical aptitude and be familiar with various software tools such as ArcGIS, AutoCAD, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM, and PowerBI, which are beneficial for project work. You will need to be skilled in evaluating, planning, designing, and supporting the management of projects involving stormwater management, green infrastructure, climate adaptation, and design of nature-based solutions. Additionally, you will need to provide valuable support in project management efforts including managing project scopes, budgets, and client deliverables.
In addition, the following will be expected of the Water Engineering Intern:
* Assess, develop, and support management of sustainability, stormwater management, and resilience projects.
* Exercise judgment on details of work and in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives
* Perform fieldwork activities such as site visits and construction inspection.
* Support collection and analysis of data including statistical analysis, analytics, research and synthesis.
* Attend outreach activities and external meetings related to climate adaptation and stormwater management projects.
* Prepare reports, presentations, and other audio-visual materials, and participate in client meetings.
Use digital tools to enhance customer experience, team and client collaboration, and project delivery including configuration and deployment of SharePoint, Power BI, and Augmented Reality, as well as designing and managing databases and cloud-based computing services
Qualifications & Experience:

* Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (or a closely related engineering discipline)
* Preferred Qualifications:
* Prior work/internship experience at a design or consulting engineering firm or municipal work environment
* Familiarity/ experience with CAD, AutoCAD, Revit

The Engineering Intern is a college student in an accredited BSCE program. This individual will assist in the design of a variety of municipal and infrastructure projects (owned by municipalities and/or local school districts). Such projects may include roads, underground utilities, public buildings, recreational facilities, and parking facilities.
We are seeking Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Structural, Engineering Interns.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
· Develop or implement engineering solutions to assist clients with improving and maintaining their infrastructure.
- Design transportation, utility, facility, or hydraulic systems or structures (as appropriate) using computer assisted design or drawing tools.
- Compute load and grade requirements, water flow rates, or material stress factors to determine design specifications.
- Assisting with building system design, including HVAC layouts, plumbing, and fire protection detail
- Supporting electrical and lighting design efforts for municipal and educational facilities.
- Performing basic engineering calculations and collecting design data to support both civil and MEP project teams.
- Estimate quantities and cost of materials, equipment, or labor to determine project feasibility.
- Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photography, or other topographical or geologic data.
- Conduct studies of traffic patterns or environmental conditions to identify engineering problems and assess potential project impact.
- Perform all design activities ensuring compliance with environmental, safety, or other governmental regulations.
- Prepare public reports on topics such as bid proposals, project status reports and design criteria reports.
- Support of the field activities of project construction inspection staff, relating to design criteria, value engineering or changing site conditions.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:
· Oral and written communication skills
· Ability to make public presentations
· Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw conclusions to present to design team members.
· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
· Knowledge of computer aided design software
· Ability to work in groups as well as individually
· CADD Experience a Plus
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
· Pursuit of a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Civil, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university
