What You'll Be Doing
Job Scope: Generally responsible for performing routine designs of less complex engineering assignments using theoretical knowledge and practical design methods. This work will be performed under direct supervision.
Primary responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Familiarity with and utilization of department engineering design and drafting standards.
Assisting in developing conceptual layouts and studies as necessary to determine the simplest, most efficient approach to solving engineering tasks.
Assisting in producing estimate level preliminary designs and material take-offs.

Ideal Background
Education: Current enrollment in a Bachelor or Master of Science degree program for Mechanical Engineering at an accredited university.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Familiarity with design standards and codes.
Working knowledge of CAD software, either AutoCAD, Microstation or both.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

This position is responsible for the support of all customer service and sales activities associated with the Chemical, Forest Products, Pipelines, State and Military and Commercial Franchisee customers for the state. And be a back-up resource for the Automotive, Primary Metals and Cement customers.
The assigned duties include preparing standard Contracts for Electric Service for Account Managers, Transmitting Contracts for Electric Service, creating new accounts and install orders for new commercial customers, performing standard rate comparisons as requested, preparing monthly estimated bills for the required segment customers (Linde, Messer, Mitsubishi and SABIC), providing assistance with same accounts to SSA, providing CSS assistance for non-SSA accounts, among other routine duties. This position will also provide general back-up for customers when Account Managers are out for vacation or sick leave.
This position is also responsible for supporting the Chemical - Forest Products Segment Manager as well as the Director, Major Accounts. Some examples of the type support include review and preparation of end use sales reports, reviews developing and maintaining Oracle Sales Cloud reports that are used to determine progress toward department goals, maintaining the segment account and customer lists, assisting in analysis of proposed FCR rates impacts to similarly situated customers in support of negotiations.
The activities associated with this position include understanding rates and regulations in order to appropriately conduct rate studies. The position also must have a firm grasp of the Microsoft Office Suite products, with special emphasis on Excel and Word. The position will need to develop a strong understanding of Oracle Sales Cloud and how to manipulate the information in an effort to better support the Account Managers, Segment Manager and Director, Major Accounts. Duties:
• Assist in the design, evaluation, and optimization of solid waste systems including collection, transfer, recycling, and disposal.
