Job Title: Electromechanical TechnicianJob Description We are seeking an electromechanical technician skilled in using hand and power tools to assemble both robust metal structures and delicate electronics assemblies. Responsibilities * Assemble robust metal structures such as tube frames and sheet metal. * Assemble delicate electronics assemblies, including PCBs and small-gauge wiring. * Perform soldering for assembly and repair of wires, through-hole, and surface mount components. * Conduct mechanical assembly using hand and power tools, including drilling, tapping, deburring, filing, and sanding. * Perform cable assembly, including stripping, crimping, testing, and strain relieving. * Apply good ESD practices while assembling sensitive electronic components into a system. * Engage in purchasing, inventory planning, and management. * Troubleshoot hardware issues and test equipment functionality. Core responsibilities Assembling and disassembling electric powertrain systems and instrumentation Advising on the design of assemblies, components, and testing Setting up and utilizing test equipment, including digital multimeters, HIPOT machines, and power supplies Performing component assembly inspections and complete documentation Contributing to improving workshop standards, protocols, and processes Basic qualifications Proficiency using mechanical and electric hand tools Experience in building and troubleshooting electromechanical systems, including electric motors, batteries, sensors, electronics, controls, and pneumatics Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, work instructions, and product data sheets Ability to: Stand for extended periods (6-10 hours per day) Lift up to 50 lbs. Advises operators and line mechanics on standard operating procedures and safety requirements when working with electronic and electrical equipment. Maintains company-required performance, inspection, and maintenance records for electronic and electrical equipment. May provide technical direction and mentoring to electricians and other maintenance personnel as required. Notifies supervisors or managers of any potential safety hazards. Performs other duties and tasks as required. Qualifications EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND AND WORK EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 5 years of industrial manufacturing experience. Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience troubleshooting and repairing: 480-volt three-phase electrical systems PLC-controlled systems Printed circuit boards (PCBs) Industrial motor drives AC/DC drives, including Allen-Bradley and Siemens systems High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational education preferred. Extensive technical knowledge of electronics and electrical systems. Extensive background in computer-aided drafting (CAD) preferred. Strong understanding of electrical safety practices, lockout/tagout procedures, and applicable electrical codes.
