We are seeking a candidate who has practices excellent customer service and can effectively communicate with a diverse internal and external customer base. The position requires fieldwork in rural areas, construction sites, and in all weather conditions, and frequent day travel. Preference may be given to candidates with a background in chemical sampling, microbenthic invertebrate sampling and identification, and laboratory analyses and procedures of water samples.
General Responsibilities Include:
· Collecting chemical, bacteriological and biological samples of surface waters for analysis to assess stream health.
· Conduct sanitary surveys of community and non-community public water systems to ensure compliance with federal and state drinking water standards.
· Serve as a knowledgeable point of contact for public water system operators, landowners, and local stakeholders, providing guidance on regulatory requirements and compliance.
· Travel regularly to monitoring sites and public water systems across a 17-county service area using a state-provided vehicle.
· Accurately document field findings, maintain organized records, and input data into digital systems.
· Participate in occasional investigations related to illegal discharges, surface water quality concerns, or public water drinking water complaints.
· Collaborate with internal regulatory teams, consultants, water system operators, elected officials, and members of the public to resolve issues and support environmental goals.

Key Responsibilities

AFO covers the 17 counties and four independent cities of far Southwest Virginia, including 50 drinking water treatment plants. **What you'll do:**
+ Successfully contribute to all aspects of vegetation management planning and analysis.
+ Utilize innovative technology and practices to help major electric utility providers deliver safe and reliable power and maintain national security.
+ Inspect and assess vegetation in right-of-ways for compliance standards and construction work plans.
+ Identify tree and brush control work and protection zone recommendations.
+ Collect data and document work using hand-held computers; assess terrain, habitat, and environmental conditions, & support IVM projects.
+ Coordinate with Project Managers, Planners, and Vegetation Crews to create customized solutions.

SUMMARY: Performs a variety of general cleaning tasks to maintain exam rooms, offices, hallways and other assigned areas of the Health System. Responsible for sustaining a sterile environment in all areas of a primary care setting by performing the sanitized at a level compatible with local, state and federal health codes and regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Cleans lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, patient's exam rooms of trash and front desk office area of trash.
Sweeps and mops floor.
Using various cleaning chemicals and disinfectants, housekeepers wipe equipment, clean furniture, polish floors and vacuum carpets.
Cleans rugs, carpets and upholstered furniture as needed.
Dusts furniture.
Washes walls, ceiling and woodwork as needed.
Washes windows including Front Desk Area, door panels and sills.
Empties all wastebaskets.
Transports trash and waste disposal from the area to appropriate outside waste containers.
Replenishes bathroom supplies.
Pick up any trash in parking lot or immediate area.
Clean and maintain front and rear porches of facilities including windows, ash trays, trash cans, and walk ways.
Complete weekly environment cleaning task checklist and submit to Director of Operations.
Keeping informed of current and proposed regulations related to sanitation of the corporation.
Other reasonable duties as required by the DOO, CEO or designee.

The successful candidate should have a demonstrated ability to navigate local, state, and federal air permitting regulations, along with expertise in leading labor and material estimates, proposals, and business development efforts. Minimum Skills and Requirements:
Bachelor of Science in engineering, environmental science, or related field.
15 + years of relevant Environmental Compliance experience.
A Professional Engineering license, Certified Hazardous Materials Manager, or other environmental certifications is preferred.
Seasoned technical writer; able to produce regulatory-quality permits, compliance reports, and agency responses from technical data and engineering analyses.
Strong consulting and critical thinking skills are required.
Project management experience, including developing scopes of work, cost proposals and schedules, and managing multiple project teams simultaneously.
A “Seller and Doer”, working with industrial clients with a proven track record in business development.
