The Crane Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of mechanical boom and cable or tower and cable cranes to lift, move, and position machinery, equipment, and materials in multiple directions in support of high-value national defense missions. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Operate cranes to lift, move, and load machinery, equipment, and various loose materials. Manipulate pedals and levers to regulate speed and direction of crane and hoist movement in response to hand, voice, or signal instructions. Observe load hookup and determine the safety and stability of loads prior to movement. Conduct routine cleaning and lubrication of cranes and assist maintenance mechanics as needed. Inspect cranes for mechanical or electrical defects and promptly report malfunctions to supervision. Perform other related duties as assigned in support of operational requirements. Accountability The Crane Operator is accountable for: Proper and safe use of tools and equipment associated with crane operations. Demonstrated knowledge of rigging and forklift operations. Ability to obtain and maintain required medical certifications and operational explosives certifications when assigned to ordnance operations. Ability to meet and maintain company physical requirements, security requirements, and clearance eligibility as required by the contract. Strong communication skills suitable for a team-based service environment. Ability to successfully pass background checks and drug testing as required.
