    ERM is hiring a Right of Way (ROW) Agent in Northern Indiana or Eastern Illinois to support pipeline and electric transmission project efforts. The ROW Agent will be responsible for the acquisition of land, land rights, licenses, leases, permits, and other documents necessary for the construction, operation, and maintenance of facilities. This is a full-time (40 hours a week), limited-term role with a duration of 12 months, extendable. Physical demands required for the successful performance of this job include standing and/or walking for long hours in a day on uneven and steep terrain, and possibly during variable weather conditions. RESPONSIBILITIES: Conduct diverse and complex negotiations with landowners (or their designees). Work on the settlement of complex damage claims with landowners (or their designees) relative to property damage caused or created during the construction. Search courthouse and other records to determine present property ownership(s) and the extent of interest therein. Advise and assist in establishing a range of fair market values to be used in the acquisition of land and land rights. Draft and/or supervise the preparation of documents for rights of entry, damage claims, contracts, easements, licenses, leases, permits, options to purchase and other documents as may be necessary to acquire adequate rights for the project. Compliance with corporate health and safety policies. Perform other duties as assigned or required. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's Degree preferred, high school diploma or equivalency required. Minimum 3 years of ROW experience. Oil & Gas, diversified energy or electric transmission experience preferred. Solid working knowledge of personal computers, Microsoft Office Suite, Google Earth, ArcGIS and data management software. Knowledgeable in real estate values and accepted real estate appraisal practices. Ability to work in remote locations for long periods of time. Excellent interpersonal skills and a high degree of professionalism. Ability to communicate effectively through oral and written communications. Review and interpret environmental data; evaluate quality assurance/quality control data; develop conceptual site models; identify data gaps; prepare or peer review a variety of work plans and reports; and develop scopes of work, schedules, costs and health and safety plans for projects under RCRA, CERCLA and other state programs. Support internal and external projects utilizing new technologies to improve efficiency, quality and achieve project objectives, including electronic field data collection, management, and reporting. Evaluate remedial alternatives and assist clients in developing cost-effective closure strategies and negotiating them with regulatory agencies. Design, bench-scale testing and pilot testing remedies for contaminated soil, groundwater and sediments using traditional and/or innovative and emerging remediation technologies, and monitoring and optimizing their performance so that our clients get the most value out of their expenditure. Appropriately delegate assignments to project team members and mentor junior staff and pull in technical experts to assist so that ERM can bring the most value to our clients. Prepare proposals and participate in business development with existing clients and identified leads. Maintain and grow client relationships to generate repeat business. Build strong collaborative relationships with ERM employees, clients, and subcontractors. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's Degree in engineering, geology, or a closely related discipline.     ERM is hiring a Right of Way (ROW) Agent in Northern Indiana or Eastern Illinois to support pipeline and electric transmission project efforts. The ROW Agent will be responsible for the acquisition of land, land rights, licenses, leases, permits, and other documents necessary for the construction, operation, and maintenance of facilities. This is a full-time (40 hours a week), limited-term role with a duration of 12 months, extendable. Physical demands required for the successful performance of this job include standing and/or walking for long hours in a day on uneven and steep terrain, and possibly during variable weather conditions. RESPONSIBILITIES: * Conduct diverse and complex negotiations with landowners (or their designees). * Work on the settlement of complex damage claims with landowners (or their designees) relative to property damage caused or created during the construction. * Search courthouse and other records to determine present property ownership(s) and the extent of interest therein. * Advise and assist in establishing a range of fair market values to be used in the acquisition of land and land rights. * Draft and/or supervise the preparation of documents for rights of entry, damage claims, contracts, easements, licenses, leases, permits, options to purchase and other documents as may be necessary to acquire adequate rights for the project. * Compliance with corporate health and safety policies. * Perform other duties as assigned or required. REQUIREMENTS: * Bachelor's Degree preferred, high school diploma or equivalency required. * Minimum 3 years of ROW experience. * Oil & Gas, diversified energy or electric transmission experience preferred. * Solid working knowledge of personal computers, Microsoft Office Suite, Google Earth, ArcGIS and data management software. * Knowledgeable in real estate values and accepted real estate appraisal practices. * Ability to work in remote locations for long periods of time. * Excellent interpersonal skills and a high degree of professionalism. * Ability to communicate effectively through oral and written communications. * Must meet criteria identified in Job Demands & Conditions Analysis for Office and Field Positions. * Valid driver's license. * Local candidates strongly preferred.
