Key Responsibilities: * Analyze project plans, specifications, and site conditions to develop comprehensive cost up estimates. * Collaborate with engineering, project management, and field teams to gather necessary data. It is also important to be able to gather data independently as needed. * Drive out jobs as needed to identify the best approach. * Prepare bid packages and assist in proposals for clients and internal stakeholders. * Identify cost-saving opportunities and value engineering alternatives. * Maintain and update unit pricing databases and historical cost records. * Including any assistance required by the PM to implement methodologies to increase margins, when possible, upon LLD. * Assist in working up pricing for change orders as necessary. * Review vendor and subcontractor quotes for accuracy and competitiveness. * Assist in project scheduling and resource planning. * Ensure estimates comply with industry standards, local regulations, and client requirements. * Must understand how to analyze risk and allocate associated contingency if needed. Qualifications: * 2+ years of experience in telecom OSP estimating or related construction estimating. * 5+ years of experience in telecom OSP construction (FTTH, Long Haul, etc.) * Strong knowledge of OSP construction methods including trenching, boring, plowing, microtrenching, aerial placement, and splicing. * Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., B2W preferred). * Familiarity with GIS tools, CAD drawings, and telecom design standards. * Familiarity with Microsoft office (specifically Excel and Powerpoint). * Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. * Capable of balancing multiple estimates to ensure quality is delivered consistently and deadlines are met. * Be a team player that helps the team succeed in its goals. * Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications. * Ability to produce takeoff quantities based off an HLD and network architecture details) * Experience with RFP/RFQ processes and bid preparation. * Capable of conducting post award/preconstruction pass offs. These pass offs need to be detailed for the management team to understand the job and expectations as they were estimated. * High school diploma required; Field level telecom construction is required. Preferred Skills: * Experience with fiber optic network design and deployment. * Understand what expected run rates would be based off job specific conditions. * Capable of understanding how different approaches cater to the client's specific needs. * Knowledge of permitting processes and utility coordination.
