In this role, you will be instrumental in analyzing bid opportunities, developing strategic pricing and proposal approaches, and ensuring all cost estimates are accurate, complete, and submitted on time. Your work will directly contribute to the success of our project pursuits and client satisfaction. This position requires a strong blend of technical proficiency, strategic thinking, and interpersonal communication. You will collaborate across departments, maintain current cost data, and provide valuable insight into the most cost-effective construction methods. Your efforts will help differentiate our proposals and position the company competitively within the Traffic Control industry. Pay: $80,000-$140,000 OTE, based on experience Key Responsibilities: Review and analyze bid documents to identify qualified and strategic opportunities. Develop winning strategies for bids and proposals that highlight our competitive advantages. Prepare accurate and complete cost estimates, ensuring timely submission in accordance with bid schedules. Review all estimates and revisions for completeness, accuracy, and alignment with project scope. Collaborate closely with the General Manager and other key stakeholders to ensure cohesive project planning and execution. Maintain and document the flow of project information between internal and external stakeholders. Prepare conceptual budgets based on design concepts and owner-provided data. Evaluate alternate methods and materials to identify cost-saving opportunities. Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with internal departments and external clients. Develop and manage a comprehensive cost database, including labor and equipment rates, production rates, and installation methods. Continuously refine estimating processes, procedures, and guidelines for consistency and accuracy. Generate clear, detailed reports and documentation to support estimating and business development efforts. Qualifications: Proven experience in budget preparation and department-level financial planning. Demonstrated expertise in DOT (Department of Transportation) estimating. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and at least one professional estimating software platform. Ability to interpret civil, construction, and traffic control plans and specifications. Design-Build project experience is preferred. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities. Effective in both independent and collaborative work environments. Strategic thinker with attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies in project documentation and plans. Preferred Experience: Minimum 3 years of estimating experience in traffic control or related industries. Direct involvement with the state DOT project bidding is strongly preferred. JOB DESCRIPTION POSITION: EQUIPMENT INSTALLATION ESTIMATOR LOCATION: Gas City, IN OBJECTIVE The function of the Estimator position within our Estimating and Pre-Construction team is to work with engineers, specialty consultants, and sub-contractors to establish detailed construction estimates. Project sizes typically range from $25,000 to $100,000,000 USD and may include a combination of construction management, general contractor, and design/build type projects. Some travel may be included in the role. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES Bid Administration Review subcontractor bid packages and clarification letters. Transmit bid documents, addenda, and other pertinent bid information to subcontractors. Ensure proper coverage from subcontractors on Bid Day. Utilize creativity and resourcefulness to gain better pricing from subcontractors. Manage the overall bid/proposal submittal process to ensure the owner's requirements and deadlines are met - no exceptions. Review and approve Bid Form and supporting documents on Bid Day for completeness and accuracy prior to submission to owner/owner representative (i.e. last set of eyes). Work and coordinate with Estimating Support. Prepare subcontracting MBE / Diversity Plan if required. Comply with all CCC ISO Standard procedures. Project Knowledge Review bid requirements thoroughly and ask follow-up questions as needed. Thorough understanding of the scope for specific trades assigned. Develop RFIs and clarifications and ensure adequate subcontractor coverage. Perform a comprehensive "Bid Day Analysis” and scoping of specific assigned trades. Create bid lists that fit the scope of the job, ensuring that we have the right subs for the project. Include value-engineering ideas on every bid. Project Turnover Properly turn over bid documents and sub buyout information to Project Management in a timely manner. Review documents with the Project Management team and highlight areas of concern. Review job cost with the Project Management team and highlight any subs/material vendors that still need to be awarded. Complete project kick-off form to ensure compliance. Subcontractor Award and Management Thoroughly check requirements to buy the proper scope. Seek & qualify new subcontractors. Award subs in a timely manner to ensure the release of materials. Ensure that subs commit to the project schedule. Solicit and maintain communication with subcontractors and vendors. CORE COMPETENCIES 7+ years of Equipment Installation, Millwright & Rigging experience in automotive or equivalent markets. Combination of education, training and/or experience is acceptable Excellent communication, planning and organizational skills are required. General Contractor, Construction Management project delivery experience. Must have above average competencies of Microsoft Suite Products: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc. Travel may be required. WORK ENVIRONMENT Fast-paced, busy, and occasionally noisy work environment. May involve managing multiple RFQ's simultaneously.     We are seeking an Electrical Cost Estimator to join our team in Indianapolis, IN. As an Electrical Cost Estimator, you will prepare cost estimates for the electrical discipline and provide business support to senior staff. You'll conduct budget and market estimates, trade reconciliations while utilizing project documentation, industry standards, and current market costs. Your role * Analyze blueprints and other documents to prepare detailed cost estimates. * Perform accurate quantity takeoffs from available design documents. * Understand union and trade construction cost standards. * Develop final "should cost" estimates to validate trade cost submissions and ensure fair pricing. * Reconcile trade bid submissions with project scope, market conditions, and budget. * Adapt to a fast-paced environment and respond effectively to change. * Source accurate and current pricing data from contractors, suppliers, and databases. * Collaborate with architects and engineers to understand project scope and build strong relationships with A/E firms and project teams. * Support senior staff in identifying efficiency improvements. * Maintain organized project documentation and file structures in accordance with company standards. * Support cost data library. * Prepare cost reconciliations between multiple estimates and explain cost variances. * May need to perform site walks as needed at the client site. * Potential travel at client site. * Carry out additional duties as assigned by the Supervisor. * Role Complexity and Decision-Making: * Work involves conventional practices with occasional complex features. * Work within a collaborative group and demonstrate ownership on assignments, making sound technical judgments. * Collaborate with and provide guidance to junior technical staff and assisting with assignments. About you * Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or equivalent discipline experience. * Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. * Proficient in IT tools including Microsoft Windows OS, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office Suite, and web-based platforms. * Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. * Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
