RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist members of the Event Management Team in executing corporate events. This includes being responsible for and supporting various roles within the event teams and workstreams (i.e., transportation, temporary staffing, signage, menu planning, shipping, capturing notes and action items, etc.).
Communicate directly with vendors for sourcing, scheduling, and status update purposes.
Edit planning documentation including, but not limited to, production schedules, workback schedules or timelines, project plans, contact sheets etc.
Attend both internal and external meetings to assist in notetaking and providing status updates regarding your workstreams and/or responsibilities.
Work remotely four days per week with the fifth day being in office at the Opus Agency Portland location. The expectation will be that your office hours will remain the same (8:00am-5:00pm) for both in-office and remote work days.
Learn the inner workings of an office environment and become proficient in Outlook, Microsoft Office, Zoom, Slack, Box and internal Opus processes. Additional platforms may be introduced, dependent on your event assignments.
Ability to go onsite, which may include travel, to one or more events to support the Opus team (based on eventavailability).

WHAT YOU'LL DO
Transportation & Compliance
Safely operate CDL or Non-CDL trucks and vans transporting equipment to and from events
Perform and document pre- and post-trip inspections; report maintenance issues promptly
Plan routes efficiently for timely and compliant travel
Maintain a valid driver's license and always DOT medical certificate
Comply with all FMCSA/DOT and company safety regulations
Keep truck interior and exterior clean, organized, and show-ready
On-Site Setup & Installation
Safely operate company box trucks or semis transporting event equipment nationwide
Unload, stage, and assemble production equipment including:
Marley flooring
Audio/visual and sound systems
Lighting, projection screens, and TV monitors
Branded backdrops, signage, fixtures, and merchandise displays
Troubleshoot and support basic AV or lighting setups
Communicate clearly with warehouse and production staff
Work independently and efficiently in fast-paced show environments
Participate in event teardown
(“strike”)
and reload all equipment safely
Work Environment
Regular travel and overnight stays required during January - August tour season.
Physically active role requiring standing, bending, and lifting.
Exposure to warehouse, stage, and loading-dock environments.
Fast-paced work cycles aligned with live-event schedules.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
MUST be 21 years of age or older
Must live within a 60-mile radius of Dayton, OH
Valid Driver's License (CDL or Non-CDL Driver's License and DOT Medical Card)
Experience driving large vehicles preferred - willing to train
Ability to lift up to 100 lbs. or more and perform physical labor
Weekend availability required (Friday-Sunday event cycles)
Strong communication skills, professionalism, and accountability

SUMMARY: Audio Visual Lead Technician, Audio, Lighting or Video is a highly experienced audio-visual technician with proficient abilities in the latest audio visual and production technologies. An audio-visual lead technician will possess the ability to design, install and operate audio, video, or lighting equipment in temporary live event environment. A lead technician will also provide leadership and management of audio-visual technicians. A lead technician will also require excellent communication and customer service skills, working with both internal and external clients.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (include, but are not limited to…)
Serve as lead technician in variety of roles and disciplines with primary audio, video or lighting focus.
Provide support for editing and creative responsibilities.
Work with a PAV Production Manager to implement the technical aspects of a show related to assigned lead role, set up, supervise, and operate related AV equipment.
Attend site checks as required
Attend all meetings / conference calls required for event, to ensure all details are captured
Relay details (financial, creative, & logistic wants/needs) to Director of Productions to determine best way to propose design and quote for event
Maintain timeline for production to ensure event planning stays on schedule
Work with Warehouse Staff to ensure assets required for event are available or In the event that assets are not available, source sub-rentals and coordinate delivery/pick up
Work with Project Managers and other event staff for efficient Run of Show
Ability to work across a variety of event formats from breakouts, general sessions, and tradeshow environments
Responsible for obtaining media from Project Manager or client for event playback or display
Work with Facility Event Managers or PAV CAD tech to obtain detail drawings of event per client specifications. Have prints approved by venue to ensure they are within fire code
Maintain orders so they're current throughout planning, run of show, and ready for invoicing at end of event
SPECIAL CHARACTERISTICS/KNOWLEDGE:
Must be organized, attentive to detail, persistent and demonstrate the ability to follow through projects to completion.
Capable of handling multiple assignments and meeting deadlines.
Capable of working with all levels of show management under minimal supervision.
Ability to run show from concept and implementation, to live show and load out.
