The Challenge
We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our growing team in Chicago, IL, Chantilly, VA, or Atlanta, GA. Ideal candidates are independent thinkers, self-motivated, communicate proactively, and enjoy collaborating with other disciplines throughout the design process.
Principle Areas Of Responsibility
Provides Design, Quality Assurance for design bid build, and design-build projects within the federal market
Reviews contractor submittals
Prepares responses to Requests for Information (RFI)
Evaluates proposed submittal substitutions; make recommendations to OBO/PD
Coordinates the development of Independent Government Estimates (IGEs) for modifications and change orders
Reviews and evaluates design calculations and data
Ability to prepare and evaluate Life Cycle Cost Analyses of mechanical and plumbing systems
Prepares Monthly Progress Reports summarizing project status
Mentor junior engineers in relevant discipline
Other duties as assigned by the Project Director
Required Qualifications
The ability to travel internationally
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
10-15 years of HVAC design experience
5 years of experience in a senior role within the A&E industry
Recent REVIT, AutoCAD Experience
Professional Engineer License required
Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a secret clearance
Preferred Qualifications
Supervisory experience is a plus
Knowledge of Commissioning
Knowledge of preparing LEED documentation
Salary Base:
This position has an annual range of $119,300.00 to $143,200.00USD. The actual hourly is based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location.

Principle Areas of Responsibility:
Develop plans and details for foundations, buildings, and structures based on preliminary concepts, sketches, calculations, or verbal instructions.

Develop structural models and project drawings using Revit and AutoCAD software.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science (required) and Master of Science in Civil/Structural Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
Active PE license in any state required / SE license preferred.
8-12 years of experience.
Familiarity with Whole Building Design Guide, Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) and Unified Facilities Guide Specifications (UFGS) strongly preferred.
Proficient with building and design codes (IBC, ASCE, ACI, AISC, etc.)
Experience with structural systems, including but not limited to, design of steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, cold-formed and PEMB structures, as well as general construction practices.
Proficient at using structural analysis (RISA/CSI/Bentley) software.
Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines and work collaboratively and simultaneously on multiple projects.
Self-motivated, detail-orientated, client-focused, and positive team player.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Comfortable with public speaking and able to present to a technical or non-technical audience.
Ability to travel for projects, including international travel.
U.S. citizen and able to obtain and maintain a secret clearance.
Proficiency with REVIT is highly preferred.

Qualifications:

Principle Areas of Responsibility:
Manage the performance of Project Managers and perform as PM on key contracts.
Interact closely with our federal government clients.
Support PMs in developing design concepts through construction documents and coordinate with project teams of architects, engineers, and specialty consultants.
Identify and respond to new business opportunities in the Region
Work closely with the Sr. Vice President of A&E Services, COO, and the Business Development Team to identify and respond to new business opportunities.
Communicate and work closely with other Directors and technical leads to gather lessons learned and establish consistency in project delivery.
Determine resources and execution requirements to support projects and monitor resource allocation to maximize efficient and effective management of projects.
Mentor and coach individual team members to grow capabilities.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in architecture or engineering from an accredited four-year college or university.
Minimum of 15 years of experience as a Project Architect or Project Engineer.
Familiarity with the Whole Building Design Guide, Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC), and Unified Facilities Guide Specifications (UFGS) is strongly preferred.
Proficient with building and design codes (IBC, ASCE, ACI, AISC, etc.)
Licensed Architect or Professional Engineer is required.
Experience providing A&E services on Design-Build federal government contracts is preferred.
Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD/BIM/MicroStation preferred.
U.S. citizen and able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

* Provides leadership and support to the Sector Manager and HKS leadership in developing HKS Venues Sector service offerings, ensuring integration into the existing HKS business

* Creates, deploys, and monitors document control processes and procedures on all projects in Sector

* Regularly communicates with Global Practice Directors and (if applicable) Practice Managers on project job performance and team
* Understands contracts and reminds practices and teams on the need to pursue additional services when required
* Supports Global Sector Director and Global Practice Directors' efforts to secure new business, clients, and organizations within the marketplace
* Assists Global Practice Directors, project leaders and project teams in reviewing fee proposals and contracts, including use of historical data to guide fee or team decisions, coordinating with PIC, legal and other project team leaders, including add service requests as necessary
* Stays aware of marketing activity affecting the sector and assists in the development of fee proposals and team structure as needed
* Collaborates and strategizes with Business Development and other leadership on project pursuits, marketing efforts and industry events to maintain existing client relationships and establish new business
* Negotiates scope and fees on contracts; monitors for changes in scope to initiate additional service letters
* Identifies, maintains and cultivates essential relationships
Qualifications:
* Professional degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Business, Finance or related field
* Typically, 15+ years of experience in the AEC industry, including experience in a leadership role with demonstrated success in project work, project financial management, and talent/resource development
* Expertise in the functionality of Vision preferred
* Experience in MS Office Suite, including Microsoft Project, Expertise MS Excel, and Microsoft Teams preferred
* Experience in the construction industry with a Design Engineering consultancy or contractor
* Experience in the Multidisciplinary Design industry in Project / Design Management and Design delivery
* Experience in design specializing in a given discipline
* Ability to be commercially astute and able to foresee and manage risk and change proactively
* Strong understanding and extensive experience working in design engineering at all stages including site delivery, with a good understanding of all core disciplines Successful track record in directing and leading teams

We are seeking a licensed mid-level Structural Engineer with design-build and infrastructure experience to join our growing team. Ideal candidates are independent thinkers, self-motivated, communicate proactively, and enjoy collaborating with other disciplines throughout the design process.
Principle Areas of Responsibility:
Develop plans and details for foundations, buildings, and structures based on preliminary concepts, sketches, calculations, or verbal instructions.
Understands the process of preparing designs and drawings using project specifications and written and verbal instructions in accordance with established design practices, standards, and procedures.
Develop structural models and project drawings using Revit and AutoCAD software.
Familiar with structural steel, reinforced concrete, and masonry drafting conventions.

Research product information to assist designers in the selection and specification of architectural materials, products, and equipment.

Oversee and/or conduct existing condition surveys of structural systems to determine engineering strategies for renovation, and to document and evaluate existing systems.
Perform structural assessment of existing buildings based on historical documents
Assist the Marketing Team with solicitations.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science (required) and Master of Science in Civil/Structural Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
Active PE license in any state required / SE license preferred.
8-12 years of experience.
Familiarity with Whole Building Design Guide, Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) and Unified Facilities Guide Specifications (UFGS) strongly preferred.
Proficient with building and design codes (IBC, ASCE, ACI, AISC, etc.)
Experience with structural systems, including but not limited to, design of steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, cold-formed and PEMB structures, as well as general construction practices.
Proficient at using structural analysis (RISA/CSI/Bentley) software.
Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines and work collaboratively and simultaneously on multiple projects.
Self-motivated, detail-orientated, client-focused, and positive team player.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Comfortable with public speaking and able to present to a technical or non-technical audience.
Ability to travel for projects, including international travel.

The Director will manage multiple A&E projects supervising Project Managers, professional, and technical innovators in multiple disciplines. You will supervise, mentor, and expand the team, fostering a collaborative environment across the wider exp Federal design studios. In addition, the Director will oversee as an acting Project Manager on various projects as needed. The job responsibilities include project performance such as quality, cost, and scheduling along with metrics relating to client satisfaction and development of technical staff.
Principle Areas of Responsibility:
Manage the performance of Project Managers and perform as PM on key contracts.
Interact closely with our federal government clients.
Support PMs in developing design concepts through construction documents and coordinate with project teams of architects, engineers, and specialty consultants.
Identify and respond to new business opportunities in the Region
Work closely with the Sr. Vice President of A&E Services, COO, and the Business Development Team to identify and respond to new business opportunities.
Communicate and work closely with other Directors and technical leads to gather lessons learned and establish consistency in project delivery.
Determine resources and execution requirements to support projects and monitor resource allocation to maximize efficient and effective management of projects.
Mentor and coach individual team members to grow capabilities.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in architecture or engineering from an accredited four-year college or university.
Minimum of 15 years of experience as a Project Architect or Project Engineer.
Familiarity with the Whole Building Design Guide, Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC), and Unified Facilities Guide Specifications (UFGS) is strongly preferred.
Proficient with building and design codes (IBC, ASCE, ACI, AISC, etc.)
Licensed Architect or Professional Engineer is required.
Experience providing A&E services on Design-Build federal government contracts is preferred.
Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD/BIM/MicroStation preferred.
U.S. citizen and able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
