Job Responsibilities Perform MIG, TIG, and/or spot welding on carbon steel and stainless steel components used in switchgear assemblies. Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and fabrication drawings. Prepare materials for welding, including cutting, grinding, fitting, and fixturing. Inspect welds for accuracy, penetration, appearance, and overall quality; correct deficiencies as needed. Maintain dimensional tolerances critical to switchgear fit-up and assembly. Operate fabrication equipment such as grinders and saws as required. Follow all safety procedures, including PPE requirements. Work collaboratively with assembly, quality, and engineering teams to meet production schedules. Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S standards. Support continuous improvement initiatives related to quality, efficiency, and safety. Exposure to warehouse environment (able to stand for long periods of time, able to move product as required). Uses specifications, blueprints, mylar and work orders. Deburrs and cleans insert drill holes prior to insert installation. Applies adhesive to plugs/ sleeves and panel prior to plug/ sleeve installation. Prepares panel assemblies for edge fill operation. Mixes and applies adhesive to the undercut/edge of panels. Hand routes with pneumatic hand router all detailed liners using the specified tool required. Records all material and logs information on work orders and in SAP software. Other essential duties may be assigned.
