Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is looking to add a **Principal or Senior Principal Network and Communications Field Service Engineer** to our team at **RAAF Base Edinburgh** near **Adelaide, Australia** .
This position will receive daily tasking and prioritization from their site lead. The selected candidate will be responsible for operations and maintenance support of the MQ-4C Triton network and communications systems at a Forward Operating Base (FOB).
**Duties and Responsibilities:**
+ Provide real time support for flight operations and maintenance, addressing any issues related to communications and networking to include fault isolation, remediation, and resolution.
+ Perform field integration, troubleshooting, and repair of communications and data link systems in military flight test environment, including operations on a flightline, in a hangar, and in command-and-control centers.
+ Adherence to checklists and procedures to ensure repeated success and providing redlines to procedures when necessary.
+ Communicate complex technical issues to local support, the Degrader Action Cell (DAC), Main Operation Bases (MOBs), and Responsible Engineers (REs).
+ Support and lead air crew engagement for proper techniques in solving complex analysis of technical problems that arise during operations.
+ Assist with trend analysis as needed for Responsible Engineers (REs).
+ Perform/support review and analysis of supplier design data and definition of functional test requirements including acceptance, qualification, and system integration.
+ Take responsibility for the testing, maintenance, and integration of Comms and Networks equipment to include radio terminals, software loads, switches, routers, and firewalls required to support ground and flight test operations.
+ Work with system admins, maintainers, and onsite personnel to troubleshoot and repair any internal operational issues.
** The selected candidate will be put on a temporary Domestic Assignment and will report to our San Diego, CA site daily prior to international deployment while clearance(s), Visa(s), and other documents are processing. The employee will go through training in San Diego during this period. **
**The expected timeline before deployment is 3-4 months but this will vary.**
Initially, this position will work a 9/80 shift. **As the program matures, the shifts may become 12-hour shifts that could include nights, weekends, and/or holidays.**
The selected candidate will be required to work full-time, on-site in Australia. This position requires the ability to **travel up to 50%** of the time once in final location.

**Basic Qualifications for Principal Field Service Engineer:**
+ Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 5 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master's degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of related engineering experience; OR a PhD in a STEM discipline and 1 year of related engineering experience.
+ Ability to obtain and maintain DoD 8140 approved IAT Level II (or higher) compliant certification. Examples include: Security+CE, CCNP, and CISSP. This certificate must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.

Primary Level Salary Range: $85,600.00 - $128,400.00

**RESPONSIBILITIES**

As a Solids Control Field Leader, you are the on-site expert in all aspects of solids control field operations - leading by example to ensure safe, efficient, and high-performing operations for both Stage 3 and the Operator. Will have comprehensive understanding of drilling fluid properties including drilling fluid weight, funnel viscosity, retort analysis and will perform drilling fluid analysis.
Will oversee, and when necessary, perform routine maintenance services, and routine electrical services on various equipment.
Will oversee and mentor and coach technicians on standard operating procedure for moving cuttings from pits to trailers, by operating heavy machinery, safely and efficiently.
Must complete mentor certification program aiding in the ability to handle a variety of personality issues appropriately.

+ Assist Area Maintenance and Procurement in specifying piping, valves, and engineered equipment.
+ Assist with MOC's for projects completed by the Area Team.
+ Provide engineering and design support for unit shutdowns and turnarounds.
+ Attend Area Team meetings. Be an active participant, and champion MPMP and POTP.
+ Interface with the construction group for planning of project implementation.
Design / Reliability
+ Understand and apply engineering codes and specs to ensure project designs meet applicable standards (RAGAGEP).
+ Review equipment designs with Reliability to identify potential problems or areas for improvement.
+ Review designs with Tech Services to ensure process requirements are met.
+ Work with Reliability to develop engineered solutions for equipment with reliability issues.
+ Complete peer reviews for QA/QC on process and mechanical design for inhouse projects as required (i.e. verify process conditions comply with ANSI/ASME applicable codes and Marathon Refining Standard Specifications, hydraulics, PSV pressure drops etc).
Project Management / Controls
+ Use the MPMP process to develop and implement projects.
+ Maintain the database for all projects.
+ Maintain a prioritized list of jobs that includes capital budget projects, HES&S projects, and Area Team priorities.
+ Coordinate project work with outside engineering firms.
+ Manage multiple projects and assignments concurrently in a timely, safe, and cost-effective manner.
+ Organize project team to meet project deliverables.
+ Ensure projects are properly documented and all process safety information (PSI) and mechanical integrity information is updated.
+ Monitor and control the cost and schedule in all phases of projects. Forecast project spend monthly.
+ Control scope creep on approved projects.
+ Coordinate procurement of engineered and bulk material for all projects.
+ Assist with developing and submitting the Capital and Expense Budgets.
Education and Experience
+ Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required. Electrical, Civil, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering degree preferred.

What You Will Be Doing:
Performs detailed design computations
Performs preliminary layout, modeling and design.
Researches and prepares rough drafts of preliminary reports and feasibility studies.
Assists with project design and preparation of plans and specifications and prepare cost and quantity take-off estimates.
What We Are Looking For:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college or university or closely related
Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.)
4+ years' progressive experience in the civil engineering field, including transportation and municipal infrastructure
Experience in plan and specification development with construction contract administration
Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Microstation, GeoPAK Drainage, HydroCAD, P8 and GIS
Must possess a valid drivers license and their own transportation. You will be reimbursed for business-related travel

Duties/Responsibilities:
Responsible for overseeing all aspects of construction projects, from planning to execution and closeout.
Managing and overseeing project plans, schedules, and budgets

Produce monthly project reports displaying project status and updates for customers
Participates in all phases of the contract modification process. Assists in preparation of scopes of work for RFP's, assists in preparation of government estimates, assists with reviews of contractor's proposals, and prepares contract modification documentation.
Attend and participate in meetings with customers and contractors.

Education/Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field
Minimum 10 years Construction Project Management experience
PMP certification is preferred.
Experience with Federal Construction projects, particularly USACE, is preferred.

Ensure Management of Change (MOC) process is followed for all projects.
Participate in Emergency Response Plan as necessary.
Understand and apply Mandan and Marathon's Safety Procedures (SP's).
Area / Project Team Support
Review project list with the Area Team on a regular basis to help prioritize the project list.
Complete scope, design, and constructability reviews with the Area Team for all projects to make sure the project meets the Teams needs including hourly personnel in both Maintenance and Operations.
Assist Area Maintenance and Procurement in specifying piping, valves, and engineered equipment.
Assist with MOC's for projects completed by the Area Team.
Provide engineering and design support for unit shutdowns and turnarounds.
Attend Area Team meetings. Be an active participant, and champion MPMP and POTP.
Interface with the construction group for planning of project implementation.
Design / Reliability
Understand and apply engineering codes and specs to ensure project designs meet applicable standards (RAGAGEP).
Review equipment designs with Reliability to identify potential problems or areas for improvement.
Review designs with Tech Services to ensure process requirements are met.
Work with Reliability to develop engineered solutions for equipment with reliability issues.
Complete peer reviews for QA/QC on process and mechanical design for inhouse projects as required (i.e. verify process conditions comply with ANSI/ASME applicable codes and Marathon Refining Standard Specifications, hydraulics, PSV pressure drops etc).
Project Management / Controls
Use the MPMP process to develop and implement projects.
Maintain the database for all projects.
Maintain a prioritized list of jobs that includes capital budget projects, HES&S projects, and Area Team priorities.
Coordinate project work with outside engineering firms.
Manage multiple projects and assignments concurrently in a timely, safe, and cost-effective manner.
Organize project team to meet project deliverables.
Ensure projects are properly documented and all process safety information (PSI) and mechanical integrity information is updated.
Monitor and control the cost and schedule in all phases of projects. Forecast project spend monthly.
Control scope creep on approved projects.
Coordinate procurement of engineered and bulk material for all projects.
Assist with developing and submitting the Capital and Expense Budgets.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required. Electrical, Civil, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering degree preferred.
Minimum of 2 years post degree engineering experience in the refining or petrochemical industry is preferred.
Valid driver's license required.
Some travel will be required.
Must be authorized to work in the US on a full-time indefinite basis without the need for employment visa sponsorship now or in the future.
Skills and Qualifications
Proficient with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel.
Strong organizing, planning, critical thinking, and communication skills. With the ability to manage competing priorities in dynamic refining environment.
Must be able to wear appropriate PPE in the refinery and be able to physically perform all tasks in the field.
