The Field Systems Engineer (FSE) is responsible for attending to service needs of bio Merieux customers within their assigned geographic territory, as well as nationally, on an as-needed basis, utilizing appropriate tools and test equipment. This position requires someone who is a self-starter, with the ability to deliver a best-in-class customer experience, while working remotely without direct supervision and able to conduct overnight travel on short-notice. Typical weekday travel is defined as daily customer visits not requiring overnight travel but expect daily driving of 50% or more. Weekend and Holiday rotational coverage is scheduled with the expectation of additional driving or flying within and/or outside of the standard assigned service region. Standard field service operations for customer support consists of approximately 15% of annual OnCall with the expectation of overnight travel when qualified on products. Job Description This position is available in our Construction Materials Testing & Special Inspections Department. We are seeking an Engineering Technician to add to our Raleigh, NC Office. It is preferred that candidates are familiar with performing field activities such as field density testing (Shelby tube and sand cone), material quantifications and concrete sampling and testing. Applicants must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and a strong work ethic. Work schedule may include some weekends. Qualifications Ideal applicants will have at least 1 - 3 years of direct construction material testing experience and NCDOT Asphalt Certified or hold an Engineer in Training Certification. It is preferred to have certifications or training from ACI, ICC, NICET, NCDOT and/or SCDOT; Nuclear Gauge Certification a plus. Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering preferred. Valid Drivers License with acceptable driving record and pre-employment drug screening is required. Job Description The Project Engineer oversees the planning and execution of small-scale electrical and mechanical projects, including estimating and tracking budgets. This role focuses on driving technical improvements in coordination with the Technical, Operations, and Strategic Projects teams. Responsibilities Lead and implement technical improvement projects within budget and timeline. Work with other departments and provide technical support as needed. Create and manage project charters with clear scope, tasks, and deadlines. Oversee project execution, including follow-up, documentation, and training. Use MS Office, CAD, and project management tools to complete tasks efficiently. Qualifications 2 to 3 years of experience in a Project Engineer role. Background in food processing or light industrial manufacturing is an advantage. Practical experience working with mechanical systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical, and electronic components. Demonstrated ability to lead and manage project teams. Skilled in using CAD software, Microsoft Project, Excel, and PowerPoint. Well-versed in OSHA safety regulations and compliance standards. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, or equivalent technical training in electrical, electro-mechanical, or mechatronics disciplines. PMP certification is preferred; Lean Six Sigma Green Belt is considered an asset. Strong proficiency in written and spoken English. Additional language skills in Dutch, French, Spanish, or German are an advantage.
