Duties & Responsibilities:
Support Stack Emissions Testing Operations
Conduct onsite stack emissions testing, using proven competencies with wet chemistry and instrumental sampling methodologies
Assist to Train and mentor Project Scientists (Field Technicians) on field procedures, test methods, calibrations, etc. using Alliance standardized training materials
Motivate the team, and ensure productivity
Supervise and reviews equipment calibrations for pivots, control modules and nozzles
Assists with pricing and deliverables (proposal/test plans/reports) review
Serves as the company's representative to interface with customers and regulatory (EPA) personnel
Uphold the highest standards of data quality & ethics
Requirements:
Must have experience leading stack emissions testing projects in the field.
Preferred experience with, client interface, safety leadership, data collection, quality initiatives and timely deliverables to the clients
Specific knowledge of instrumental and wet chemistry equipment operation, troubleshooting and calibration required
Flexibility to work 40+ hours per week as well as some overnight stays & travel will be required.
Consistent standing or walking, bending, crouching, or stooping, climbing ladders and/or stairs, frequent lifting of objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to distinguish between shades of color
Excellent communication skills (internally and with Clients and Regulators) with professional demeanor.
Must maintain positive attitude with ability to work well in groups and desire to achieve goals and grow into higher positions of leadership.

On any given day, you'll:
Take on an increasingly responsible role in the design of projects
Provide engineering support for a variety of municipal and private projects such as roadway reconstruction, sanitary sewers, storm sewers, water mains, bridges, trails, and traffic signals
Independently evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria on moderately complex projects
Develop plans, specifications, schedules, permits, and inspection reports in accordance with good engineering practice
Prepare design computations and quantity estimates
Develop construction cost estimates for projects
Review construction site to monitor progress and other duties per the contract documents
Read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, or government regulations
Develop project scope, schedule, and budget
Effectively communicate and coordinate with clients and stakeholders, both verbally and written
Write project reports
Write funding applications
Perform computer modeling and analysis of water/wastewater systems, design water/wastewater systems, and related components
Plan and design water mains, pumping stations, storage tanks/reservoirs, water treatment plants, and well water systems
Plan and design sanitary mains, wastewater pumping stations, and wastewater treatment plants
Attend public meetings, as required
Attend evening board meetings of municipal clients, as required
Conduct quality check of all documents and reports, verify data accuracy, information, and calculations
Maintain and expand our client relationships with the help of managers throughout Illinois
Identify areas for growth and strategize the development of new business
Participate in proposal presentation and business development activities throughout Illinois
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college or university
Must be a licensed Professional Engineerin the State of Illinois or Indiana, or the ability to achieve PE license within 6 months
Valid Driver's license with a good driving record
Desired Skills and Experiences:
Proficient with Microsoft Word in the preparation of reports, specifications, and narrative communication with clients
Proficient with AutoCAD or MicroStation/GEOPAK software in the preparation of engineering and design documents
Experience in the following areas a plus: municipal design, GIS, modeling (water, sewer, and stormwater), and construction observation/administration
IDOT or INDOT experience preferred
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Geotechnical skills and Material testing a plus!

Key Responsibilities

Perform fault current calculations, arc flash analyses, and coordination studies for power distribution systems
Manage multiple projects simultaneously, directing the efforts of engineers and designers
Prepare and present project documentation including calculations, drawings, and technical reports
Perform equipment take-offs from design drawings and coordinate procurement
Collaborate with vendors to acquire and specify off-the-shelf components
Review designs for fit, function, and accuracy to ensure compliance with standards
Ensure final deliverables meet customer requirements and internal design standards
Travel intermittently to project and customer sites to support field teams and contractors
Requirements
Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution
Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in electrical engineering

The intern/co-op program may consist of any number of work sessions. Multiple sessions give interns/co-ops the ability to rotate between the different L&S components in order to gain exposure to the various business segments and to offer a variety of assignments with increasing responsibility. Intern/Co-ops will gain experience in the 5 phases of the Marathon Project Management Process (MPMP) including Conceptual, Feasibility, Definition, Implementation, and Start-up/Close-out.

1. Provide technical support to manufacturing for capability issues, technical improvements, and processing improvements.
2. Identify improvement opportunities and use a data driven approach to quantify the improvement, develop timelines, and develop budgets.
