Responsibilities
FieldEngineering:
* Assist in interpretation of drawings and specifications for field crews and craft supervision
* Perform quantity calculations by taking measurements and determining percentage of completed/installed materials and work
* Assist in the preparation of work plans and work packages
* Assist in field surveying and work layout support including elevation, control points, and compilation of as-built data
* Assist in compiling, processing, and confirming daily labor timesheets
* Assist in the preparation of Job Hazard Analysis (JHA's)
* Participate in jobsite safety reviews, toolbox meetings, mass safety meetings, and safety training
* Order and schedule material deliveries
* Plan, schedule, and coordinate work groups on the jobsite
* Supervise field operations
Office Engineering:
* Perform material takeoffs from drawings, specifications and other contract documents
* Perform basic engineering calculations and technical drafting to support field operations
* Assist Engineers to gather and prepare data for submittal or transmittal to the customer, vendors, subcontractors, governmental agencies, and internal use
* Participate in the preparation of purchase orders and subcontracts, performing minor solicitations and purchasing as requested
* Schedule maintenance and performing updates as directed by others
* Assist in the maintenance of basic project recordkeeping and correspondence functions including daily reports, photographs, requests for information (RFIs), and memorandums
* Enter data into the job cost system and participate in reviewing cost reports with jobsite management
* Assist in generating change orders and as-built data to be reviewed by the Project Manager
* Provide field support and supervise subcontractor operations
Estimating:
* Assist in reviewing and analyzing historical data relative to the project, incorporating various productions and costs appropriate in preparation of a bid
* Complete a plan and specification review for an assigned project, assessing the risk areas and bringing them to the attention of the Senior Estimator
* Complete material and quantity takeoffs according to bid documents

Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in a construction-related field of engineering or equivalent experience and education
* At least 2 years of experience in the construction field
* Must have working knowledge and be able to direct the operations of at least these management systems: scheduling - CPM, unit man-hour performance, material control, estimating and subcontracts.
* Experience with leadership and management of people, communication (verbal and written), planning and organization.

Qualifications/Required Skills
Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related field (B.S.) from a four year college or university. Field engineer job in Idaho Falls, ID
Amentum Technology Inc. (Amentum) provides safe and innovative solutions to our customers at nuclear cleanup and production sites. Our services include program management, decommissioning, environmental remediation, waste and nuclear material management, nuclear operations, consulting, and engineering, and construction. We are currently executing many contracts, performing work that is essential to our clients missions across a broad range of functional areas, and one contract in particular is near the Idaho Falls area.
We are looking to add an Electrical Engineer to our growing team out at the Spent Fuel Handling Project at the Naval Reactors Facility in Scoville, Idaho. You will will perform a variety of electrical engineering design functions as part of the onsite construction support for the Title 3 activities. this includes dispositioning NCRs, performing assessments on existing designs, responding to RFIs, issuing Design Change Notices (DCNs) that require a PE license in Idaho or the ability to obtain within six months.
**Duties include:**
+ Coordination with Quality on inspections
+ Supporting development of scopes of work for electrical subcontracts with procurement and construction groups
+ Survey/assess existing facility and master planning, scoping, and estimating level of engineering effort
+ Field work to assess existing conditions
+ Report writing
+ Conceptual design
+ Review of design development of drawings, specifications, and calculation analyses
+ Assistance with cost estimating
+ Services during bidding and construction, including answering requests for information, bid review, shop drawing review, sites visits during construction, and commissioning support
+ Hosting progress meetings and project closeout
**Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor's or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering (from an ABET-certified institution)
+ 4 or more years of electrical engineering experience
+ Construction support experience for Title 3 activities
+ Short Circuit analysis
+ Knowledgeable in the NEC
+ Broad range of electrical systems is required, including power system design, substation design, fire alarm design, lighting design, load flow studies, communications design, ground design, and equipment design
+ Ability to independently produce sizing calculations and other analyses/reports is required
+ Must be able to show proof of US Citizenship (to comply with government customer requirements and/or applicable government regulations)
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ DOE experience
+ NQA-1 experience
+ Arch Flash Analysis experience
+ Experience leading groups of engineers and designers on major projects
+ Ability to author proposals and statements of work is a plus
+ Experience with leading technical discussions with client(s)
+ Familiarity with Instrumentation & Controls interface
+ PE license in Idaho or PE in other state with the ability to quickly obtain an Idaho PE via NCEES Reciprocity
**Essential Functions:**
Intermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, and lifting. Lifting requirements limited to 20 lbs. in the form of supplies, drawings, etc. Longest distance carried of 50 feet. Hand manipulation is required for simple grasping, pushing and pulling, and fine manipulation. Right and/or left hands utilized. Occasional need to reach and/or work above the shoulder, for supplies, as well as below the shoulder for same. No foot controls necessary. Must be alert to equipment in the field, there will be occasional travel, will work near construction job site equipment when in the field, occasional need to work near hazardous equipment and machinery, occasional need to walk on uneven ground, exposure to dust, gas or fumes, exposure to noise, extremes in temperature or humidity, and potential work at heights.
**OTHER ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**
U.S. Citizenship required. Valid driver's license is required. Must be able to work in a team atmosphere. Must put forward a professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation. Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others. Must take and pass a pre-employment drug, background check and site security badge screening
