Purpose of the job
As an Alstom VIE FieldEngineer you will be qualified to undertake activities around the three main site areas for a Turn-key and Signaling Projects to deliver APM (Automated People Mover) solution to improve the transportation experience for the population, through the top-notch technology Alstom provides. In this program you will rotate for 6 months in each function such as Project Management, Installation and Test & Commissioning and be assisted by an experience manager to ensure success of your mission.
Main responsibilities
Project Management (6 months):
Governance:
Deploys and ensures the application of Project Management PM2020 processes at the project.
Pro-actively support the Site Project Manager to manage internal interfaces with project engineering, procurement, supply chain, installation and T&C.
Learn concepts of Earned Value Management (EVM) such as: Tender baseline, EAC (Estimate at Completion), ETC (Estimate To Complete), AC (Actual Cost). Use these concepts to estimate the project financial performance.
Planning:
Support to elaborate and approve with the Project Manager project schedule.
Support the Project Manager to plan project activities and resources. Update ODYC supporting the PM.
Support the Project Manager issuing the release baseline sheet. Connect the ITC Manager, Test Lead, PrEM. and all the main stakeholders at this activity.
Learn how to run the workload review with Planning, Engineering, Installation and T&C team comparing the demand of activities versus the availability of resources at the Project..
Quality:
Ensures that the DFQ cycle is followed, action logged and resolved within the target dates.
Control and communicate NCR and defects at the project scope.
People and Time Management:
Support the Project Manager to supervise contractors, vendors and project resources (FTE and contractors).
Report needs to improve competence and training resources with a proactive and collaborative behavior.
Ensures EHS compliance (Zero deviation), reports, and anticipates issues.
Technical Scope:
Review and keep updated the Project Plan.
Prepare the monthly Project Review and dry-run the meeting with the PM.
Be able to summarize the main threats for the project critical path. Draft an action plan to address those.
Commitment to the Project main physical and financial milestones.
Communication:
Draft the Monthly report and review it with the Project Manager.
Learn how to read and use the Project KPI (financials and technical).
Support the PM to prepare the documentation for the MPR.
Installation Supervising (6 months)
Governance:
Deploys and ensures the application of Installation processes by the ITC team within the project.
Pro-actively support the Site Project Manager and the ITC Manager (PrCOM) manages internal interfaces with project engineering, installation and external technical interfaces with Partners, Third Parties and Customers for Installation activities.
Planning:
Support to elaborate, and approve with the Project Manager, the 4-weeks Lookahead with the determination of the activities.
Represent Alstom at the Access meetings with customer or consultants to ensure site access is planned and granted in accordance with the approved project schedule.
Support the Project Manager to plan installation activities and resources.
Elaborate and review with the team EHS Hazard Analysis to each activity planned.
Quality:
Ensures ITC activities are carried out correctly and on time, according to the plan, budget, and contract requirements, and that Alstom standards are fully followed.
Write and keep updated method and statements of the installation scope.
People and Time Management:
Supervise installation contractors to ensure delivering scope on time and to quality standards required by Alstom.
Execute FMIs on-site per Engineering instructions.
Proactive towards development of resources competency to other team members
Ensures EHS compliance (Zero deviation), reports, and anticipates issues.
Technical Scope:
Prepare and execute installation supervision and PICO tests.
Ensure defects identification and listed at the RTC database.
When leading activities, do it by example, with a clean and well-planned execution strategy.
Check compliance of Signaling systems in relation to system specification documents and contractual requirements.
Commitment to the Project main milestones, leading the execution of them on-site.
Communication:
Provide daily reports, through periodic KPIs and. Resolve technical deviations preventing progress of field activities.

Education and Experience
* Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field. Equivalent experience of 8 years in an engineering position may substitute for degree

The Responsibilities
We are seeking a qualified individual who has experience installing, operating, maintaining, repairing, and modifying electromechanical equipment, preferably in the field. Troubleshoot technical problems and systems issues.
Determine technical solution in accordance with product and customer specifications and recommends actions to company or customer representatives for coordinative product solution.
Conducts technical analysis of product implementations, modifications, and enhancements to product in accordance with specific customer specifications and implementations.
This position will also require the individual to assess Customer needs and recommends solutions in accordance with product specifications and Customer Specifications.
Conducts technical training and product briefing with customers, vendors and company representatives as needed. Act as local on-site representative to customer's organization. Manage all territory responsibilities including Preventive Maintenance & upgrades including software & hardware. This position requires the individual to provide service support in the hospital/clinic laboratory environment.
Responsible for individual parts management, online training, and administrative expense reporting.
Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

The Work Environment

Salary Transparency
The salary range for this position takes into account a wide range of factors including education, experience, knowledge, skills, geography, and abilities of the candidate, in addition to internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary range for this position is $65,000 to $85,000 and is bonus eligible. The Fiber Design Organization is responsible for the usage, maintenance, and documentation of Lightpath's robust fiber network. Own and manage the usage of Lightpath's Fiber Network.
Make decisions regarding the usage of our fiber network and how it is to be leveraged to enable our customers' success. Will include designing fiber routes for various telecom services such as Dark Fiber, Ethernet, SD-WAN, WDM, DIA, Small Cell, and FTT services.
Produce creative solutions using Lightpath assets to deliver unique services for our customers' needs supporting design criteria such as distance limitations, diversity needs, or specific routing requirements.
Lead training for both individuals and groups within the department to help further their knowledge of industry practices and procedures.
Provide mentorship to peers and team members regarding both general work practices & specific project support.
Research existing databases, files, and records for purposes of network design, fiber optimization, customer communications, and/or relocation of fiber facilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design of specialty structural elements known as Buckling Restrained Braces (BRBs) and their connections.
Design of gusset plates and verification of local effects in frame members.
Analysis of relevant project documents to ensure compliance with project specific design requirements.
Design coordination with the Structural Engineers of Record (SEORs) responsible for the overall design of structures that use BRBs.
Coordination with members of design and construction teams (SEORs, Architects, steel fabricators, detailers, erectors, GCs, etc.) during all stages of assigned projects.
Generation of deliverable documents, such as design drawings and calculation packages.
Review and verification of shop drawings.
Response to Requests for Information (RFIs) from the field and/or from the shop as required during installation and manufacturing.
Addressing of plan check and/or peer review comments pertinent to the design of BRBs.
Performing of other occasional duties as assigned, including but not limited to assistance with bidding/pricing, occasional traveling, marketing, and Research and Development (R&D) related activities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil or Structural Engineering.
Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain one preferred.
Understanding of current building codes and standards, engineering fundamentals, and structural load paths.
Familiarity with seismic and structural steel design preferred.
Proficiency with MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Operational knowledge of commercial structural analysis software preferred (RAM SS, ETABS, RISA, etc.)
Attention to detail and strong focus on quality.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.
