The individual selected for this position will assist with ongoing land and facilities management responsibilities for the College of Agriculture, including (but not limited to) construction duties, planning and completing projects, and operating heavy equipment and machinery.
Essential Functions
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
* Operates heavy equipment such as tractors, backhoes, bulldozers, excavators, trenchers, forklifts, etc. used for various construction projects on university property and may also drive semi-trucks.
* Excavates, grades, and resurfaces fields and surfaces at various job sites.
* Builds/renovates structures and support structures to include ponds, greenhouses, pole barns, and other buildings.
* Assists in the planning and estimating of department construction projects.
* May perform welding and plumbing functions in support of local facilities. Loads and transports materials from one location to another.
* May be occasionally required to travel for out of town and/or overnight work.
* May apply various pesticides to plants, shrubs, and trees.
* Repairs and maintains equipment and vehicles ensuring that they are in proper working condition.

Setup and safely operate single spindle, multiple spindle, radial-armed drills, and cut-off saws.
Lay out and perform drilling, tapping, reaming and sawing functions per blueprint specifications.
Read and interpret STERIS blueprints, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) including travelers, and other working documents.
Maintain equipment by ensuring the proper coolant concentration and oil levels are present, including adding coolants and oils when necessary.
Apply cutting and tapping fluids to materials and cutting tools to reduce heat and assist with chip removal.
Use required measuring instruments and gages to check and ensure parts meet dimensional requirements.
Complete all projects, assignments, and duties as directed and instructed by the area supervisor.
Take responsibility for the quality of all parts by inspecting and immediately reporting any problems, discrepancies or irregularities to the supervisor.

Pay range for this opportunity is $16.14 - $20.89. This position is eligible for bonus participation.

Inventory Count Specialist Perks:

Inventory Count Specialist Responsibilities:
Perform cycle maintenance and resolve discrepancies
Move material, supplies, or equipment to appropriate areas
Operate warehouse equipment such as forklift, hand trucks, and pallet jacks
Inventory Count Specialist Qualifications:
Must have 1 year of recent Forklift experience
Must have previous warehouse experience with an emphasis in inventory management and cycle count.
Must be proficient in performing cycle counts and resolving inventory discrepancies
Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS)
Must be able to stand/walk for 8+ hours per day
Must have strong attention to detail with basic computer skills
Must be willing to submit to a drug screening and criminal background check

What We're Looking For:
* Ability to be certified to operate a forklift and other mobile equipment
* Basic computer skills
* Ability to read, write, and perform basic math calculations
* High School Diploma or GED preferred

What You'll Do as a Machine Operator:
* Operate a lift truck to supply greige fabric to the range
* Load/unload trailers and transport materials to proper storage areas
* Support inspectors by transporting rolls to/from inspection tables
* Move rolls to the warehouse and maintain roll organization
* Wrap and stage finished rolls for shipping
* Deliver materials to the lab and log information as needed
* Handle chemical deliveries and submit paperwork accurately
* Ensure clean and organized work areas, including roll and chock bin maintenance
* Comply with all environmental, health, and safety regulations
* Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership
