Position:
The Backend Web Developer will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining backend systems that support our production workflows, client portals, and internal applications. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment where accuracy and security are essential.
You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including operations and client services to deliver efficient, robust, and secure technology solutions that power our print and mail operations.
Remote/Hybrid-If in commutable distance to our Anaheim location.
Hours: Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm PST

Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain backend services, APIs, and data workflows to support internal applications and client-facing portals
Integrate systems related to job submission, data processing, production tracking and reporting
Build and optimize database structures to support high-volume transactional operations
Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve system issues in a timely manner
Collaborate with front end programmers to align user facing features with backend functionality
Ensure application security, data integrity, and compliance with industry standards (including SOC, HIPAA, PCI, if applicable, etc.)
Develop documentation, technical specifications, and maintenance procedures
Participate in code reviews and contribute continuous process improvement
Support deployment activities
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience
5+ years of experience as a backend developer or software engineer
Strong proficiency in web programming languages (such as PHP, JavaScript)
Experience building APIs, microservices, or distributed applications
Strong SQL experience with relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server)
Familiarity with version control (SVN), SDLC, CI/CD pipelines
Understanding of authentication, authorization, and secure coding best practices
Ability to work independently and communicate effectively in a collaborative environment

Required Skills

Required Experience

Building responsive websites for desktop and mobile devices;
Client side scripting using HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, JavaScript, and jQuery;
