Garment inspectors are skilled professionals who are responsible for examining garments for any defects in sewing, knitting, or finishing. These inspectors are required to examine fabric for dropped stitches, holes, or stains while using chalk or pins to mark defects. They must measure garments by using a tape measure to determine that these garments conform to standard size. Garment inspectors must also examine cut garment parts to detect inaccuracies while using scissors to trim excess materials and thread ends from the garment.
