Summer Camp dates at Hidden Lake Camp are June 28th - August 1st, 2025. These dates include pre-camp training and post-camp clean-up. All positions include room and board. Camp staff are generally off from Friday evening through Sunday afternoon each week.
GSNENY operates two summer overnight camps; Hidden Lake Camp in Lake George NY and Lake Clear camp near Saranac Lake, NY. Many staff positions can be combined to work at both camps for a full summer of employment (8 weeks total, June 28th - August 22nd.)

Under the supervision of the Group Teacher and Educational Director, the Assistant Teacher shall be responsible for working within the framework of The Salvation Army and carrying out its functions, policies and procedures, observing the schedules in the center and adhering to its established personnel policies and practices.
Responsibilities
Assist in appropriately supervising children at all times according to DOH and DOE regulations to facilitate safety and optimal program functioning.
Assist in the planning and execution of a program within the classroom that meets the educational, social, developmental and health needs of the group and the individual child.
Assist in developing educational goals appropriate to the age and developmental level of each child.
Assist in keeping accurate and up to date written records on children's progress according to DOE, DOH and Salvation Army policy.
Adhere to the approved plan by which information concerning the children and program can be shared with
parents/caregivers.
Assist in keeping classroom furniture, equipment and materials accessible and in good condition.
Share with other classroom personnel the performance of routine chores related to all areas of the program.
Maintain good working relationships with parents/caregivers and Salvation Army colleagues.
Participate in staff meetings, mandatory training and professional development opportunities.
Participate in recruitment activities to increase enrollment in the centers.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), NYC Department of Education online platforms, and Teaching Strategies.
Other duties as assigned, consistent with the above and according to programmatic needs.
Qualifications
The assistant teacher shall meet the requirements set by the Department of Education (DOE), the Department of Health (DOH) and The Salvation Army (TSA).

He also has a variety of roles around the church building and community. He must work with the members to keep the church running and operating in a way that is pleasing to God, the community, and God's family at FBC.
The Qualifications Needed:
· Theology or Biblical school degree (a minimum of a bachelor's degree with intentions of pursuing a master's degree)
· A strong background in biblical preaching and teaching during Sunday service and Bible studies.
· Experience or have methods that will reach young families while preserving and nurturing an older congregation.
· The ability to work in partnership with all involved with the church.
Benefits
The Compensation:
Full time Salary: $48,000- $70,000 based on experience and education.
Part Time Salary: $25,000 - $35,000 based on experience and working 18-20 hours a week (including Sunday) with flexibility that is negotiated and no benefits.

This position requires you to travel to all of our sites within the NYC and LI area. Personal transportation is required. Responsibilities
Relationship Building & Program Oversite
Source and develop meaningful and productive volunteer training opportunities with local businesses
Maintain positive long term relationships with businesses
Recommend the most efficient use of volunteers, appropriate volunteer and future workforce needs to support volunteer program operations
Ensure volunteers are staffed to support the various areas of operations
Develop and manage volunteer policies, procedures, and standards of volunteer service Assess visitor feedback received through comment forms
