    Job Description Mr. Handyman of St Charles Co and Chesterfield Valley has an immediate opening for a Service Technician in Saint Peters, MO. As the Service Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, repairing, carpentry, and general handyperson tasks for residential and commercial customers. The ideal candidate will have experience in both home repair and commercial maintenance, as well as strong technical skills and a commitment to providing exceptional service to our clients. Responsibilities: Maintain an appearance and demeanor representative of the Mr. Handyman image, the Mr. Handyman level of quality, and the Mr. Handyman Way. Identify and diagnose issues with equipment and systems, using diagnostic tools and testing equipment as needed to determine the root cause of problems. Repair, replace, or restore faulty components or parts, equipment, and systems to proper working condition. Inspect own work in customers' homes and/or businesses to ensure all work is thoroughly completed, meeting Mr. Handyman quality standards and meeting or exceeding customers' expectations. Manage customer relations, including collection of payments (Credit, Cash, Check, PO, etc.), invoicing, and needed documentation utilizing iPads and provided software systems. Ensure organization and security are kept top of mind at all times. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies while performing maintenance and repair tasks, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment and following safety protocols. Report all injuries immediately. Injured workers must immediately be seen by a physician/clinic specified by the supervisor. Abide by all rules, regulations, and policies contained in the employee handbook, safety manual, and employment agreement, including active participation in identifying, reporting, and correcting situations affecting safety, quality, and customer satisfaction. Attend and participate in all staff meetings. Implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize equipment downtime and prevent future issues, including cleaning, lubrication, adjustments, and vehicles. Report all deficiencies or unusual characteristics of the Mr. Handyman vehicle or equipment. Qualifications: Punctuality, dependability, neat appearance, professional grooming, thoroughness, consistency with service and solution-oriented perspective Empathy and ability to listen, customer service, and interpersonal skills. High school diploma or equivalent; technical school or vocational training in a related field preferred. 8 years of experience as a service technician in the home repair and/or commercial maintenance industry. Technicians should have their own tools to use. Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, testing equipment, and hand/power tools. Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written in English. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Valid driver's license and clean driving record. Ability to stoop, bend, kneel, stretch, lift, and carry in a manner consistent with normal home or commercial repair or maintenance activities. Maintain and be available to work the required business hours established for serving customers, without tardiness, interruption, or early departure. Typical business hours are M-F 8am-5pm. Ability to read, interpret, and navigate maps throughout the assigned territory area. Mr. Handyman of St Charles Co and Chesterfield Valley is committed to providing safe work conditions.     Identification: Identification: SIMR Maintenance Laborer (Seasonal) DEPARTMENT/DIVISION: Public Works & Transportation/SIMR (Traffic) SALARY: $15.45 Hourly CLOSING: Open Until Filled Job Summary/Scope: Perform manual labor in maintenance and construction for the City's Street Infrastructure Maintenance and Repair Division. May operate heavy equipment as needed. No supervisory or budgetary responsibilities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Assists with asphalt repairs Assists with the construction of concrete forms and performs concrete finish work. Required to be on call and/or carry a pager and respond to emergencies as needed. Cleans sewer lines and inlets. Assists in repairing, rebuilding, and replacing inlets and manholes. Operates jack hammer, dump truck. Cut brush and weeds. Trims trees and branches as needed. Maintains regular and reliable attendance. Drives snowplow and or salt spreader as needed. Hand paint crosswalk and assist with traffic control devices Occasionally work with inmate crew Performs all other related duties assigned. Required (Essential) Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to follow oral instructions and carry out assigned tasks. Valid Class “B” Commercial Driver's License with Tanker endorsement or the ability to obtain within 90 days of employment. Ability to work in confined spaces. Skills in building forms, pouring and finishing concrete. Knowledge of City geography and street location. Knowledge of proper barricading & traffic control procedures. Material and Equipment Directly Used: Shovels, jack hammer, brush and weed control equipment, cement mixer, small electrical and air tools, and snow blower. Use of concrete, sand, cement, mortars, bricks, blocks. Drive and operate trucks and other wheeled vehicles. There may be times when use of personal vehicle may be required. Working Environment/Physical Requirements: Work is performed under a variety of conditions ranging from confined spaces, large excavations, sewer odors, exposure to sanitary sewage, vermin, extreme cold, heat, wind, wet, and occasionally in live traffic. Must be able to stand for long periods and operate equipment with dexterity. Must have the ability to routinely lift objects weighing up to 30 pounds, occasionally lifting objects weighing as much as 80 pounds or assist in lifting objects weighing more than 100 pounds and pulling loads up to 300 pounds. You must be able to regularly pull a charged sewer cleaning hose up to 50' and occasionally several hundred feet across fences and through various types of terrain. Must have the ability to regularly assemble, install & disconnect 5 to 6 sections of vacuum tubing weighing up to 120 pounds. Work involves occasional frequent climbing, bending, squatting and reaching. Some overnight or day travel may be required for business purposes. Vacation and other leave scheduling shall be requested of and must be approved by the appropriate supervisor. Employee Behavior and Conduct: City employees shall conduct themselves in a professional manner and shall exhibit and extend such professional conduct appropriate for circumstances to those with whom they come into contact both internally and externally during the performance of their duties. Examples of professional conduct include, but are not limited to, being communicative, informative, fair, honest, and respectful. Education: High school diploma or equivalent required or must be able to obtain within 6 months. 6 months to one year's experience in a related field preferred.
