This position gives you the opportunity to showcase your leadership and organizational skills in the role of the shift coordinator. Not only will you be a DSP, you will be an advocate and voice as people exercise informed decision making in regards to their own well-being. You will be an ally as they communicate their wants and needs to others. The shift coordinator is a hands-on professional that has a direct role in supporting the daily activities of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. With the assistance of the leadership team, the shift coordinator will be responsible for coordinating work schedules for all staff. Qualifications Minimum of High School diploma or High School Equivalency; college experience preferred. Valid New York State drivers' license that meets Heritage Christian Services motor vehicle standards. Reliable transportation required. Physical ability to lift over 50 pounds and provide assistance to people who require support with transfers. Minimum six months experience in direct support is required. Your Core Responsibilities: * Provide direct support and personal care, including hygiene, bathing, grooming, toileting, oral care, dressing, and personal safety. * Promote independence by teaching and supporting self-help and social skills. * Administer medications (if certified) and monitor health needs. * Ensure safety and well-being at all times; report concerns of abuse, neglect, or mistreatment immediately. * Implement support plans (SAP, IPOP, BSP, PONS) and document progress in the Electronic Health Record (EHR). * Support individuals in community activities, social relationships, and meaningful experiences. * Drive agency vehicles to transport individuals safely and maintain vehicle logs. * Maintain professional communication, appearance, punctuality, and reliability. * Complete required training and maintain certifications (SCIP-R, First Aid/CPR, medication certification if applicable). * Provide coverage at alternate program sites as needed. What You Bring: * A compassionate, dependable, and caring nature. * No prior experience required-paid training provided. * Ability to read and follow service plans and safety protocols. * Basic computer skills for documentation in EHR. * Effective written and verbal communication skills. * Ability to problem-solve and adapt to different situations. * Valid Driver's License and at least 2 years of driving experience. Must meet Lifetime Assistance's Vehicle Operator Requirements. * Must successfully pass all required background checks and clearances. * Physical ability to assist individuals, including lifting/moving up to 35 pounds, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and occasional extended driving.
