Under the direction and supervision of the Assistant Principal, the Licensed Special Education Teacher will be responsible for the administration and supervision of the educational programs for students with disabilities. Terms of Employment: 10-month per Contract of Employment (182 contract days)
Salary: The compensation for this position is in alignment with the Amplus Governing Board approved Salary Schedule; Salary Schedule based on years experience and degree held. Compensation for all positions are determined by the Governing Board and Administration of Amplus Academy. Consideration is given for experience and specialized skills in determining salary.
Salary Range: $50,840- $80,000 with 100% Employer Paid PERS

Supervises the behavior of students in the classroom, on school grounds, and on educational trips

Develop and oversee the implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), 504 plans, and Behavior Intervention Plans / BIPs (as needed) and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations and to create instructional plans and programs for each student.
Develop and maintain confidential folders in compliance with federal and state regulations.
Develop and implement professional development programs for staff on special education strategies and best practices.
Provide guidance and support to teachers, instructional aides, and other staff, as needed.
Coordinate with external service providers, such as speech therapists or occupational therapists, to meet student needs.
Maintain accurate records and documentation related to special education services, including in Infinite Campus.
Work with administration and staff to assess the effectiveness of special education programs and recommend improvements.
Stay updated on changes in special education laws and policies to ensure the school remains compliant.
Student and Family Support
Serve as an advocate for students with special needs, ensuring their voices are heard in school decision-making processes.
Communicate effectively with parents and guardians about their child's progress and any changes to their educational plan.
Conduct proactive family outreach and communications regarding student outcomes, strengthening the partnership between families and the school.
Monitor each student's progress towards IEP goals and/or RTI outcomes.
Prepare quarterly reports of each student's progress towards IEP goals and provide them to parents/families.
Schedule IEP meetings, MDT meetings, and/or manifestation meetings as needed, to support student needs and academic development.
Safety Management
Adhere to safety protocols and visitor procedures, and participate in monthly safety drills and related staff training.
Maintain confidentiality of student information.
Maintain complete, accurate, and up-to-date records of student attendance, academic performance and growth (i.e. grades and assessment data), and behavior incidents, interventions, and outcomes (as needed).

Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic teacher that is passionate about teaching children creativity and good problem-solving skills. This position requires at least 3-5 years experience as a lead Pre-K teacher, to join our team! You will be leading a class of Pre-K assessing their current academic level and designing instruction to meet their collective and individual needs. We want to help children reach their full potential and prepare them for kindergarten. You will create weekly lesson plans and monthly newsletters. We work on age appropriate learning activities to build confidence and independence. We also schedule events as a school such as Harvest Festivals, Christmas Programs and visits from Santa Claus, Easter Egg Hunts with Mr. Easter Bunny. We celebrate holidays with classroom parties and teach the children to be giving and helpful to people in need such as our St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital Trike a thons, raising money for children with Cancer. Our school focus' on teaching our students to be kind, respectful and compassionate to others.
Responsibilities
Create and follow a comprehensive curriculum
Teach pre- reading and pre-math skills
Assist children with developing social and emotional skills
Use Love and Logic and Montessori instructional methods and learning techniques
Communicate with parents and other school personnel
Assess student's skills and performance to ensure they are meeting developmental milestones
Qualifications
Must have at least 3-5 years experience as a lead teacher
CDA certification a plus
Strong understanding of child development principles and best practices in education and classroom management
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Knowledge of classroom health, safety, and sanitation guidelines and ability to closely adhere to the guidelines
Problem-solving and mediation skills

Department: Instruction
Reports To: Principal
SUMMARY: Is responsible for teaching, instructing, guiding and directing all pupils assigned to his/her classes in the teaching and learning process. Plans learning activities to assist pupils in gaining knowledge, developing skills, and attaining educational goals. Responsible for measuring and evaluating pupil progress toward attainment of educational objectives.

Available for consultation with students, parents and other personnel before and after regular school hours
Provides suitable lesson plans and arrangements for substitute teachers in case of teacher absence.

Maintain accurate records for student reporting (grades, attendance, IEP, etc.)
Monitor/consult with school health nurse regarding health-related issues reflecting student achievement
Be a member and participant in the activities of professional organizations vital to the development of professional excellence
SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for the safety, conduct and instruction of students in their charge and for students outside of class hours as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree
Valid Teaching Certification in specified area by the State of Missouri
Preferably having computer skills in Google(docs, sheets, and slides), Word Processing, Gmail, Basic Spreadsheets, PowerPoint, Publishing, SIS Attendance, SIS Grades, SIS Homework, SIS Parent Contact Log.
EVALUATION: Performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Nine-month employee. Salary to be established by the Board of Education.
