STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Shall be responsible for the care and custody of inmates detained at the Norfolk County Sheriff's Office and Correctional Center or related programs.
Shall supervise inmates work details within the correctional center facility, ensuring that areas of responsibility are maintained in a clean, secure, and sanitary manner.
Shall conduct searches of inmates and areas within the facility for contraband in accordance with Sheriff's Office policy and procedures.
Shall ensure and enforce that the inmate population adhere to the regulations. Correctional Center's rules and

Shall transport prisoners to courts, hospitals or other institutions while securing their safety and secure custody.

Shall conduct accurate inmate head counts in accordance with Sheriff's Office policy and procedures.
Shall be responsible for making recommendations to the classification board on each inmate assigned to his/her housing unit.
Shall make recommendations to superiors regarding Sheriff's Office policy and procedure changes in accordance with the chain of command.
Shall be required to maintain and properly document all facility logbooks.
Shall conduct daily cell inspections to prevent contraband, security and sanitary violations.
Shall be familiar with and ensure compliance with all emergency contingency plans: body alarm, escape, disorder, medical and fire emergency evacuation procedures.
Shall assist and perform all other duties as assigned by the Facility Shift Commander.

The Department of State Police Executive Protection Unit is seeking an Intelligence Analyst II, who will apply advanced principles, practices and techniques of research and analysis to the work performed. This includes open-source intelligence research and analysis. Incumbents use the methods of applied research and the intelligence cycle to analyze data, draw conclusions, formulate hypotheses, assess resources, create intelligence products and provide valuable intelligence services to law enforcement and other public safety and homeland security officials in specific subject matter areas or for a specialty work unit.
Duties of this position include, but are not limited to:
* Conduct research into secure and open-source law enforcement and information databases to identify and acquire data that may prove relevant to developing actionable intelligence for criminal cases, multi-jurisdictional law enforcement agency use, and current and future public safety and homeland security operations.
* Monitor open-source and law enforcement sensitive communications such as internet traffic, teletype messages, scholarly and general interest articles, professional publications, public safety bulletins and advisories, and public information exchanged via meetings, minutes, and summaries to maintain awareness of threats, trends and critical information in multi-jurisdictional law enforcement domains such as violent fugitive apprehension and financial crime.
* Process incoming requests for data and generate complex qualitative and quantitative reports and other appropriate intelligence products to support law enforcement operations and criminal investigations.
* Perform liaison duties for intake and outreach with federal, state, local and private sector entities within the criminal information, intelligence, and public safety and homeland security communities to build relationships on behalf of the agency and secretariat.
* Contribute actionable intelligence upon request to support prevention and security efforts within the state relative to the protection mission.
* Adhere to prevailing state and federal laws and policies regarding the handling of criminal offender record information and document classification markings including sensitive but unclassified and classified information.
* Collect and rapidly assimilate information to author special topics bulletins, advisories, reports, and related publications, to produce special flyers on criminal subjects and to disseminate reports, bulletins, advisories, and related publications in support of law enforcement operations.
* Coordinate the exchange of interstate and intrastate information pertaining to criminal activity and criminal movement.
* Establish criminal pedigrees that include identification of criminal history and criminal relationships to aid in making connections between members of criminal organizations.
* Attend meetings and conferences to obtain or disseminate information and criminal intelligence and to receive or share information regarding unit issues and work activities.

* Conduct computer-based background research on suspects or known criminals under investigation, applicants for security clearances, and other persons of interest.
* Participate in accreditation compliance activities for the work unit when applicable.
* Provide testimony in various legal proceedings and forums related to prosecutions and ongoing criminal investigations.
* Meet with law enforcement officials to identify gaps in existing criminal investigation and intelligence data, to collect raw data, and to evaluate investigatory progress for the purpose of exchanging or gathering information to start or build a case file.
* Analyze criminal intelligence information to predict the capabilities and vulnerabilities of investigative and public safety strategies. Utilize contrarian analysis, alternative competing hypotheses, scenarios, alternative futures analysis and other techniques to develop analytical findings.
* Evaluate complex data and received intelligence to cultivate possible leads and develop further direction for deeper investigation into criminal activity and public safety threats. Conduct research and intelligence analysis of significant criminal threats to public safety and homeland security on a proactive basis.
* Conduct threat/vulnerability assessments. Produce intelligence related to critical infrastructure and maintain relationships with critical infrastructure operators.
* Prepare comprehensive documentation (i.e. case files) of intelligence products generated, and classified and unclassified data researched, to accurately reflect the information collected and analyzed over the course of an investigation.
* Determine the structure and operation on a tactical level of criminal groups such as organized crime families, terrorist cells, and gangs by researching and analyzing intelligence relating to patterns, trends and group movements. Study assets of suspects to determine the flow of money into and out of targeted groups. Analyze intelligence data to anticipate future gang, organized crime, and terrorist activity.
* Coordinate services and resolve problems and facilitate the flow of intelligence information between the agency, criminal information networks and other stakeholders.
* Supervise and monitor the establishment, maintenance, retention, discontinuation and security of criminal information, intelligence and public safety databases and files to ensure confidentiality, comply with federal, state and local laws, and assure accuracy and proper dissemination of information. Assist in the research, development, testing and modifying of new or revised databases by providing input on required fields, values, formats and logic in order to ensure accuracy of data transfer, compliance with regulations and to meet user needs.
* Conduct meetings to exchange information pertaining to criminal activities or unit issues and procedures to maintain effective unit operations.
* Design, develop, and modify training curricula and/or content and materials in a specialty area. Administer specialized training programs for an assigned subject matter area, to include scheduling, equipment handling, workspace organization and procedures.
* Review analytical intelligence and law enforcement publications, bulletins and teletypes, attend meetings and undergo training to remain current on job-related procedures, law enforcement investigation and intelligence issues, and methodological innovations.
* Contribute to the update and maintenance of effective standard operating procedures for unit activities by making recommendations, conducting research and collaborating on drafting appropriate language, references and source citations.
* Perform periodic reviews of existing reports and records to determine those which should be purged based upon records retention laws, unit procedures, and related factors.

MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants must have (A) at least four years of full-time or equivalent part-time professional experience in work for which analysis, research, investigation or communications was the primary responsibility, which may include service in the Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) of Intelligence Specialist or a similar MOS, and (B) a Bachelor's degree or higher in a social science or liberal arts discipline, or (C) an equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below.
Applicants must be able to obtain a Secret-level security clearance.
Candidates are required to have a current and valid motor vehicle operator's license at a class level specific to assignment.
Substitutions:
I. A post-undergraduate certificate in crime analysis, intelligence research or a similar area of study may be substituted for one year of the required (A) experience.
II. A Master's degree in criminal justice or a related social science discipline may be substituted for one year of the (A) required experience.
III. A Master's degree in criminal justice or a related social science discipline, plus a post-undergraduate certificate or completed graduate-level fellowship or internship in crime analysis, intelligence research or a similar area of study, may be substituted for two years of the required experience.

The Regional Intelligence Analyst serves as an experienced, independently capable analyst researching, analyzing, and disseminating intelligence information and performing advanced intelligence functions to support organizational preparedness and response to man-made and natural threats. The Regional Analyst is expected to demonstrate subject matter familiarity, take initiative on complex tasks, and lead analytic projects with minimal oversight.
This role reports into and is supported by SCN's centralized Threat Management and Information Sharing operation, working embedded within and under the direction of the Director, Communal Security Initiative (CSI) at Combined Jewish Philanthropies (CJP) in conducting proactive research and online monitoring of known and potential threat actors in the CJP catchment area of Greater Boston and the CSI expanded service area in New England, responding to threats or incidents reported by community partner organizations, and collaborating and sharing information across relevant local, regional, and federal partner organizations and agencies.
The Regional Intelligence Analyst will be expected to work in person two days per week at CJP CSI offices in downtown Boston with occasional in-person meetings on other days. They may be required to work in-person one day per week at another Greater Boston location.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Conduct complex analysis of multi-source information to identify patterns, threats, vulnerabilities, and emerging risks.
Conduct OSINT monitoring and investigations across mainstream, alternative, and deep web platforms to identify and assess extremist individuals and groups (domestic and international) including known threat actors in the region.
Capture, assess, interpret, corroborate, and distribute intelligence using databases, software platforms, and online portals.
Develop original intelligence products including reports, bulletins, threat assessments, and briefings tailored for internal and external stakeholders.
Provide protective intelligence support for events to include reviewing and tracking events, alerting law enforcement fusion centers of upcoming events, and performing analysis to determine event security measures and staffing.
Collaborate across agencies and organizations to share relevant intelligence and fill identified collection gaps.
Coordinate with SCN's Jewish Security Operations Command Center (JSOCC) to ensure alignment with national intelligence priorities, receive support and review of intelligence operations and discuss national threat trends and adapt intelligence-gathering strategies accordingly.
Lead or manage analytic projects, ensuring clarity, timeliness, and actionability of deliverables.
Deliver briefings to senior leadership, law enforcement, and community partners.
Perform structured analysis and generate, test, and refine analytic hypotheses.
Incorporate alternative analysis techniques and structured analytic methods.
Identify and manage personally identifiable information (PII) responsibly and in compliance with SCN's privacy policy and POI Guidance considerations as well as all applicable legal regulations.
Apply analytic tradecraft with precision, including critical thinking, source evaluation, and intelligence cycle management.
Contribute to a professional analytic culture by supporting continuous improvement in product quality and tradecraft standards.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree with at least three years of experience in intelligence, research, and analysis or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Demonstrated proficiency in intelligence tradecraft, analytic methodologies, and intelligence product development.

The target annual salary range for this position is $85,000-$90,000. The Department of State Police Executive Protection Unit is seeking an Intelligence Analyst II, who will apply advanced principles, practices and techniques of research and analysis to the work performed. This includes open-source intelligence research and analysis. Duties of this position include, but are not limited to:
Conduct research into secure and open-source law enforcement and information databases to identify and acquire data that may prove relevant to developing actionable intelligence for criminal cases, multi-jurisdictional law enforcement agency use, and current and future public safety and homeland security operations.

Study assets of suspects to determine the flow of money into and out of targeted groups. Analyze intelligence data to anticipate future gang, organized crime, and terrorist activity.
Coordinate services and resolve problems and facilitate the flow of intelligence information between the agency, criminal information networks and other stakeholders.
Supervise and monitor the establishment, maintenance, retention, discontinuation and security of criminal information, intelligence and public safety databases and files to ensure confidentiality, comply with federal, state and local laws, and assure accuracy and proper dissemination of information. Assist in the research, development, testing and modifying of new or revised databases by providing input on required fields, values, formats and logic in order to ensure accuracy of data transfer, compliance with regulations and to meet user needs.
Conduct meetings to exchange information pertaining to criminal activities or unit issues and procedures to maintain effective unit operations.

Perform periodic reviews of existing reports and records to determine those which should be purged based upon records retention laws, unit procedures, and related factors.

Counterintelligence Analyst - Mid Responsibilities Include:

Triage packets, review files, and produce counterintelligence analytical reports and assessments.
Provide detailed written assessments and correspondence of tasked analysis.
Produce professional briefings and supporting documentation used to articulate and communicate operational activities and or CI threats to various internal and external audiences.
Produce and deliver briefings derived from threat assessments written by the Contractor and/or other DCSA CI personnel to USG customers and cleared industry partners.
Prepare, coordinate, and present Government-approved briefings (CI briefings, threat presentations, CI awareness, and methods to mitigate threats) as required.
Triage reported information and generate appropriate reports from information reported by cleared industry under the NISP.
Review reports forwarded by DCSA CI Special Agents (CISAs) and perform detailed research to determine if the reports meet the criteria for creation of an Intelligence Information Reports (IIR), NIP, CI Incident Reports (CIR), or other type of reports IAW current DCSA SOPs. If a report is warranted, the Contractor shall write the report and input it into the DCSA CI Directorate's system of record, draft the associated CIR, or similar document as required, and forward to the applicable CISA.
Assist the collection management officers to generate IIRs from industry reports and analyze the reported information to determine if it satisfies DCSA, DoD CI or other agencies' collection requirements. In doing so, the Contractor shall determine suitability of the report for processing into an IIR. All IIRs shall include analytical comments and be drafted IAW DCSA and Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) SOPs.
Collaborate and engage with customers and stakeholders to share threat information, improve integration, and enable responsive measures from other agencies and services.
Participate in analytical exchanges with other Government and intelligence entities.
Attend and support the regional office at CI working groups and analytical/operational exchanges.

Duties for the position of Correction Officer I\:
Maintains Custodial care and control of incarcerated individuals by escorting or transporting them under restraint, patrolling facilities, making periodic rounds, head counts and security checks of buildings, grounds and incarcerated individual's quarters, monitoring incarcerated individuals' movements and whereabouts, and guarding and directing incarcerated individuals during work assignments to maintain order and security in a correctional institution; observes conduct and behavior of incarcerated individuals; develops working relationships with incarcerated individuals be revering individuals to appropriate supportive servicer; prepares monthly evaluation reports; performs related operational duties and performs related work as required.
All applicants under consideration will be subject to a physical abilities test, psychological test, drug test, submit to a full background check and be required to have a medical form filled out by your physician before entering a twelve (12) week Recruit Academy.
Working conditions\:
Correction Officers may work in a correctional facility, alone in an isolated area; may work varied shifts, weekends, holidays, or nights and are subject to a standby (on call) work status; may be subjected to verbal and physical abuse from others; may be required to interact with people who are under physical and/or emotional stress; stand and walk for prolonged periods of time; are subject to injury from firearms; may work under exposure to adverse weather conditions; may travel for job-related purposes; and may be required to furnish private transportation for reimbursable job-related travel.
Applicants must be at least nineteen (19) years of age at the time of civil service exam and are required to have a current Massachusetts Class D Vehicle Operator's license or the equivalent from another state.
No person who has been convicted of a felony, convicted of a misdemeanor, or has been confined in any jail or house of correction for said conviction shall be appointed.

This is a Civil Service position. Candidate must take and pass the next Civil Service Examination for this title and score must be reached in order to be considered for a permanent appointment. Please note that salaries for union positions are determined according to the provisions of the respective collective bargaining agreement. Applicants must have no felony convictions, to include any actions defined in 5 U.S.C. 301; U.S.C. 509, 510; 42 U.S.C. 15601-15609. The Massachusetts Department of Correction shall not hire anyone who may have direct contact with offenders, who has engaged in sexual abuse in a prison or other institution as defined in 42 U.S.C. 1997; or has been convicted of engaging or attempting to engage in sexual activity in the community facilitated by force, overt or implied threats of force or coercion, or if the victim did not consent or was unable to consent or refuse, or has been civilly or administratively adjudicated to have engaged in the activity described in the above paragraph. The agency shall consider any incidents of sexual harassment in determining whether to hire anyone who may have contact with offenders or residents. The DOC urges bi-lingual applicants to apply.

Minimum Entrance Requirements\:
In accordance with Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 31, section 64, applicants must have graduated from high school or must possess an equivalency certificate issued by the Massachusetts Department of Education; or must have served at least three years in the armed forces of the United States, the last discharge or release from which must have been under honorable conditions.
Special Requirements\: Based on assignment, possession of a current and valid Massachusetts Motor Vehicle Operator's License may be required.
