clear aisles of any obstructions; observe fire codes; and alert management of any possible safety hazards Routinely and thoroughly clean the tables and surrounding areas in the store café and bakery Maintain backroom storage area of job-related supplies neat and orderly Keep an inventory of job-related supplies, such as paper products, toiletries and cleaning materials; Notify manager to order supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties Keep janitorial cart organized and supplied with needed cleaning products, equipment and tools Notify manager or designee when using cleaning items from the shelf for “store use” Keep work area clean, orderly, and free from safety hazards Immediately attend to spills on the floor isolating the area from customers using cones or carts to block off the area, followed by thoroughly cleaning the floor Politely greet and interact with customers with a smile and provide excellent customer service; This position is responsible for cleaning projects requiring advanced training and demonstrated skill. Inspects work performed in assigned building/property(s) and submits reports to the Supervisor. Positions may be indoors to maintain the interior of the community, outdoors to maintain the exterior, or a mixture of both. Your Responsibilities: * Performs a variety of cleaning/maintenance duties as assigned including but not limited to sweeping, mopping, shampooing, dusting, polishing, trash disposal, replacing light bulbs and window cleaning. * Informs Supervisor of needed supplies. * Maintains all cleaning solutions in accordance to OSHA requirements for hazardous chemicals. * Removes trash from premises and assists in emergency cleaning. * Ability to properly utilize new equipment and follow safety procedures prior to using this equipment. * Maintains a friendly and professional attitude. * Responsible for maintaining the appropriate level of sanitary and cleaning supplies for assigned areas. * Inspects all assigned areas daily and reports all cleaning and maintenance discrepancies to the Supervisor. * Ensures that security procedures are always adhered to. * Ensures all safety precautions are followed while performing work. * Maintains working relationship with building staff. * Furnishes and burnishes floors as required. * Completes daily work orders as scheduled. * Responsible for maintaining the appropriate level of sanitary and cleaning supplies for assigned areas. * Maintains assigned equipment in good working condition. * As applicable, cleans restrooms: Sweeps and mops floors. Refills all dispensers such as hand towels, toilet paper & hand soap. Cleans toilets, urinals, sinks, mirrors & counters. Empties/removes trash. * Reports any discrepancies or deficiencies to supervisor. * Ability to properly utilize new equipment and follow safety procedures prior to using this equipment. Skills & Qualifications: * High school diploma or equivalency preferred * Previous custodial experience preferred * Effective written and verbal communication skills. * Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills require * Previous experience in a high-rise setting preferred. Physical Requirements: * Ability to lift 50 lbs. following appropriate safety procedure * Work in an upright standing position for long periods of time. * Crawl in small and tight spaces; Ability to work in different environmental working conditions (e.g., heat, cold, wind, rain). * Walk and climb stairs; Handle, finger, grasp and feel objects and equipment * Reach with hands and arms * Ability quickly and easily navigates the property/building as required to meet the job function * Repeat various motions with the wrists, hands, and finger * Complete all required for * Ability to respond to emergencies in a timely manner * Climb ladders and work at heights above ground level (maximum 3 ft). The General Cleaner will clean all areas of the facility (Per industry standards, approximately 4,500 - 5,000 sq ft will need to be cleaned within 1 hour - this will vary by location) by performing the following duties: DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Performs all assigned tasks in a professional manner in order to reflect the highest integrity of the Company. * Performs routine cleaning of administrative offices, lobbies, breakrooms, lounges, corridors, bathrooms, elevators and stairways in a clean, neat and sanitary manner. * Cleans toilets and sanitizes restrooms including sweeping, mopping, and dusting of all surfaces and stocks restroom with supplies such as toilet paper, paper towels, and soap. * Cleans and dusts furniture, exhibit cases, fixtures, windows, doors, trim, and related furnishings; moves furniture, supplies and miscellaneous only when directed by a supervisor. Uses safety poles for high dusting. * Collects both recyclable and non-recyclable waste and replaces trash cans liners where applicable. * Cleans telephones periodically using germicidal and cleaner disinfectants if applicable. * Vacuums fully in traffic areas and cleans any visible debris on carpets. * Cleans light switches, doors and walls, and tops of modular furniture and blinds. * Cleans and/or polishes tables, benches and chairs, stainless steel elevators, escalators, water fountains, and sinks and removes cobwebs. * Safely empties trash into the proper dumping area and breaks down heavy trash into more manageable weights before lifting and dumping. * Secures job area with safety signs when mopping or performing other duties that may be hazardous to the public. * Locks and unlocks doors and windows to offices and other rooms as necessary. Turns off light when rooms are unoccupied. * Reports to work on time and dressed in company uniform to also include employee badge and black slip resistant safety shoes. * Identifies and reports safety hazards to supervisor and/or Manager. * Follows Safety Procedures which include the correct use of PPE and other Safety requirements (i.e., Bloodborne pathogens) based on the job. Responsible for cleaning all bio-waste using these procedures. * Follows all infection control practices including hand washing techniques. * Works a flexible work schedule which includes nights, weekends, and holidays. * Ensures that cleaning carts are not be left unattended and that they are properly and safely replenished after each shift. * Ensures that custodial closets remain locked at all times and keys are properly signed in and out and are always left at the job site. * Keeps hallways and pathways clear of carts, cleaning equipment, tools, and any other hazardous items that could result in trips and falls. * Leaves equipment and cleaning materials clean at the end of each shift and ready to use. * Completes additional duties as assigned.
