Position Overview:
Under the direction of the Lead Teacher and Child Development Director, the Assistant Teacher assists in the planning and implementation of classroom curriculum, communicates information to families, and maintains a safe, healthy, warm, engaging, and attractive environment. Age-appropriate activities should provide for growth in skill, self-awareness, group relations, and character development. By conducting him/herself in a caring, responsible, honest, and respectful manner, the Assistant Teacher is a role model for children and adults. In addition, he/she ensures focus on programming that promotes healthy living, social responsibility, and youth development.
Key Responsibilities
Keep safety of children as a first priority - with emphasis on an atmosphere that is family-friendly, age-appropriate, inclusive, and conducive to a quality-driven environment.
By personal example, facilitate the YMCA core values of honesty, caring, respect, and responsibility with children, staff, and families - must be a positive, healthy role model.
Use positive and constructive methods of behavior guidance.
Supervise children and manage transitions smoothly to ensure safety and appropriate behavior.
Work with the Lead Teacher in the design of the classroom space and maintain facility and supplies at all times.
Assist the Lead Teacher with relevant assessments on a variety of levels throughout the year by means of progress reports, parent surveys, and program self-assessment.
Provide children with a well-balanced curriculum of specific, planned learning experiences that support their social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and language development.
Utilize curricula which are developmentally and linguistically appropriate; provide for the development, interests and temperaments of individual children; supports school readiness and educational development; and include goals for the knowledge and skills to be acquired by children in various areas of learning.
Participate in designated hours of training per year.
Participate in regular staff meetings.
Assume accountability for all children assigned to classroom and connect daily with parents/guardians.
Adhere to the rules, regulations and procedures set forth by the YMCA of Greater Boston, the branch location, and the Department of Early Education and Care.
Perform all duties deemed necessary by branch/program leadership.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Working towards EEC certification of qualifications.
First Aid and CPR certification.
Skills in working with families, conflict resolution and public relations.
Knowledge of group process - must agree to work in harmony with other staff.

Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and systematically monitor skill-acquisition and behavior reduction programs under the supervision of a BCBA
Assist the BCBA by researching the literature related to 2-3 specific learners' programs
Oversee the implementation of behavior-analytic programs by others
Assist the BCBA by conducting assessments related to the need for behavioral intervention (e.g., preference assessment, functional assessment, staff performance assessment, etc.)

Perform electrical maintenance tasks on plant utility and process infrastructure. Install and repair electrical systems, apparatus, electrical components, and electronic components of machinery and equipment following electrical code, manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints, and other specifications. Work with limited supervision, with oversight focused on complex and/or new assignments. Act as an informal resource for colleagues with less experience.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Program, troubleshoot, and operate programmable controllers, distributive control, and interlocking systems.
Install equipment for new electrical services (120v, 240v, and 480v, three phases), including wiring, conduit, panels, breakers, contactors, relays, times, and controls.
Perform work on-site automation system to the component level, including components that require 0-10-volt signal or 4-20 milliamp signal repair.
Perform electrical troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair; install or replace circuit breakers, fuses, and variable speed.
Work on electrical equipment including but not limited to Frequency Drives (VFDs), contactors, overload devices, fixtures, switches, receptacles, and wiring.
Read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, electrical schematics, service manuals, and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
Perform preventive maintenance on electrical equipment, distribution systems, motor control centers, and motors.
Assist operators with training or troubleshooting to minimize equipment downtime.
Maintain communication with other departments, management, and employees and notify them of any problems and/or concerns that may restrict production efficiency.
Stay current on new products, equipment, technology, and techniques.
Utilizing a continuous improvement mindset, assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes.
Exhibit the ability to anticipate parts requirements for the tasks, follow proper purchasing procedures, and acquire parts ahead of anticipated task performance.
Perform and assist in all operations maintenance activities in accordance with national, state, and local electrical codes.
Use a computerized maintenance management system (e.g., SAP) to record and access maintenance-related information.
Maintain safe working conditions for employees and compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding health and safety issues.
Follow all DFA good manufacturing practices (GMP) and work consistently with all corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements.

Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent
Graduation from trade school or technical school in related discipline preferred.
2 to 4 years of electrical maintenance experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment, and automation system maintenance experience
Certification and/or License - Electrician journeyman license or other location specific electrician license; master electrician preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Thorough knowledge of electrical codes, practices, techniques, tools, and equipment
Knowledge and application of national, state, local building codes, OSHA, and standard industry safety rules/regulations pertaining to electrical work.
Able to use standard hand and power tools and equipment used in electrical maintenance activities.
Able to use to use ladders and scaffolding in a safe, efficient manner.
Able to work from sketches, drawings, and blueprints.
Able to inspect equipment, recognize potential problems, and take appropriate corrective action to prevent component failures or equipment down time.
Able to perform electrical activities/repairs independently and assist on more complicated repairs.
Able to complete minor to mid-sized projects from planning to installation.
Able to present options and ideas to current processes or procedures.
Able to perform task and duties without constant supervision.
Able to work effectively in a team environment.
Able to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing
Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

The Role
The Maintenance Electrician will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairs, preventive maintenance, and new installations of facilities, electrical systems and production equipment and machinery. Key Responsibilities
Maintaining, repairing, and installing building related electrical services and systems.
Performing diagnostic work, repairs, and upgrades for a wide variety of manual and automatic machinery including process, calibration and testing equipment, test chambers, welders, machine tools, and other manufacturing equipment.
Completing scheduled Preventive Maintenance (PM) tasks.
Utilizing the Computerized Maintenance Management System for the administration of PM work orders and work requests, including updating schedules, procedures, and tasks.
Identifying the need for and maintaining a spare parts inventory for critical equipment.
Coordinating activities of outside repair technicians and other service providers as necessary.
Supporting Facilities team members as needed for projects within other manufacturing departments.
Assisting with maintaining a safe working environment for all employees.
Following all related company safety requirements such as but not limited to; lock out/tag out, electrical safety, compressed gas, working from heights, and proper selection and use of personal protective equipment.
Responding to emergency calls after hours when required.
Must be able to lift 35+ lbs.
Must be able to work from heights.
Must have a current driver's license.
Required Qualifications
H.S. Diploma or equivalent with 10+ years of hands-on experience in the electrical trade.
Current Journeyman or Master Electrician, Licensed in MA.
Working knowledge of industrial electrical systems and equipment, including wiring methods, distribution equipment, motors and transformers, control centers, and generators.
Working knowledge of electrical/electronic controls, pumps, and mechanical systems.
Familiarity with machine guarding systems, safety controls, and interlocks.
Ability to read and interpret work instructions, manuals, schematics, and control diagrams.

Preferred Qualifications

Position Summary
