The ideal candidate will be experienced in installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of medium to high voltage electrical distribution systems and related equipment. This role includes working with cathodic protection systems, power generators (gas and diesel), transformers, and airfield lighting systems. Key Responsibilities Operate and maintain medium voltage (1kV-35kV) systems and, where applicable, 69kV Navy systems. Inspect, repair, and test a wide range of electrical components including underground cable systems, switches (oil, SF6, air), transformers, ground grid systems, and fuses. Troubleshoot electrical issues using specialized tools: multimeters, meggers, ammeters, cable locators, fault finders, high-potential test equipment, etc. Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, and technical manuals. Follow all safety protocols including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), NFPA 70E standards, and PPE requirements. No live (hot) work is permitted without prior written authorization. As our Electrical Level 1 Installer, your day is a mix of hands-on craftsmanship and collaboration. You'll install a variety of electrical systems like conduit, wiring, switches, outlets, panels, and light fixtures, each job different from the last. You perform basic troubleshooting with guidance from experienced teammates, read blueprints, and ensure all work meets code and safety standards. You stay organized by uploading clean after photos and detailed notes to document your work.
