Preferred Qualifications * Experience as a Distribution or Transmission Journeyman Lineman. * Skills in electrical utility construction methods and standards, overhead and underground materials, use of hand or power tools, and operation of construction equipment. * Experience using Fall Restraint Equipment (FRE) that includes an ANSI or OSHA approved climbing belt with a secondary safety. * Knowing the fundamentals of electricity, electrical circuitry, and operation of electrical equipment. * Applied mechanical principles to rigging and the operation of tools and equipment, test instruments and procedures, accident prevention rules, and safe work practice. * Dedication to working safely and skillfully. * Great at following instructions given in written, oral, or diagrammatic form. * Appreciate adventurous work environments where you can climb poles and structures high off the ground or way down low in teeny tiny vault spaces. * Experience with State General Orders 95 and 128. * Ability to collaborate and work well with others. We are a licensed C-10 contractor and operate construction crews in various areas of CA and soon the rest of the U.S. Overview of Position Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics and electrical code specifications to determine layout of electrical equipment installations; Install, examine, replace or repair electrical wiring, boxes, conduits, feeders, Panels, Commercial Switchgear up to 3000A, Transformers Disconnects and other commercial 208/480V electrical components; Test electrical equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage and resistance; Maintain, repair, install and test switch-gear, transformers, switchboard meters; Communicating with clients in a professional, courteous manner at all times. Collaborating with construction workers, plumbers, and other crew members. Trenching for electrical underground Test electrical systems using tools that include voltmeters, oscilloscopes and ohmmeters to determine where issues may be occurring, the safety of the system and to ensure compatibility Repair electrical issues by replacing or installing components, wiring or devices Determine the steps necessary to assess an electrical situation using testing devices, blueprints and maps Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to all company guidelines and OSHA safety requirements and also through reporting violations of policies, procedures and guidelines to immediate supervisor Use ladders, scaffolding, platform and lifts to work on electrical systems in commercial properties.
