GENERAL FUNCTION This position performs assigned work related to the construction, maintenance and repair of overhead and underground electric transmission and distribution systems and related equipment. The position will work on energized or non-energized power lines, cables and equipment. Union position hourly wage $72.23. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY This is a non-supervisory position. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 1. Installs, maintains and repairs cable, conduit, vaults, enclosures, and transformers. The ideal candidate will be experienced in installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of medium to high voltage electrical distribution systems and related equipment. This role includes working with cathodic protection systems, power generators (gas and diesel), transformers, and airfield lighting systems. Key Responsibilities Operate and maintain medium voltage (1kV-35kV) systems and, where applicable, 69kV Navy systems. Inspect, repair, and test a wide range of electrical components including underground cable systems, switches (oil, SF6, air), transformers, ground grid systems, and fuses.
