Novate is currently looking for an Industrial Controls Electrician I to join our Field Services Team at our location in Livermore, CA. Primary work location is the East Bay/Fremont area. This individual must have the ability to be client facing, have general awareness of multiple industrial environments, provide support initiative and be extremely organized. Requirements Responsibilities: Provide off-site client support as needed for process failures and support for automation solutions. Provide input and recommendations to help client self-resolve issues, understand the implication of those recommendations, and anticipate efficiency, compliance, safety and operational needs. Complete new equipment installations for various control components, such as instrumentation, sensors, I/O, VFDs, servo drives, etc. Monitor client systems for active events with an eye towards preventing client downtime. Performs other duties as assigned or required. Accurately report work on to electronic time sheet applications, daily. Required Skills and Experience: Experience in installing raceway, conduit, bending conduit per NEC code. Working knowledge of current NEC code, and ability to read and apply code. Knowledge of electrical principles Ability to interpret drawings and schematics. Experience with low voltage circuits, signaling circuits. Experience with installing and troubleshooting instrumentation a bonus. Experience with installing and basic troubleshooting of VFDs. Must maintain a clean driving record with the ability to pass a driving background check. Must be 21 years of age and possess a valid driver's license. Understands basic construction principles. Ability to meet deadlines. Adheres to company safety policies and procedures including ability to identify and report safety hazards, and the ability to encourage others to work safely. Ability to establish rapport with customers and other tradesman. Ability to work successfully independently, and with others. Ability to take ownership of issues and communicate with team. QUALIFICATIONS: Must meet the Company's requirements as to General Qualifications, in accordance with the Section of the Foreword of the Job Manual entitled "General Qualifications," and, in addition: Must have satisfactorily completed an Electrical Apprentice Program, or the equivalent; Must have a thorough working knowledge of: Applied electricity and electronics including A.C. and D.C. electrical circuits, machinery, measurements and calculations; The layout, construction, functions and operation of the electrical equipment and circuit connections of the Station; The electrical maintenance, repair and construction procedures and practices of the Station; Safe rigging and scaffolding practices and the use and care of tackle hoists and ladders required in Qualifications (Continued) The rules, safety practices and procedures for clearing and tagging out electrical apparatus for the protection of personnel and equipment; and The practices, principles of operation and proper application of equipment, as prescribed by the Company, for safety, First Aid and fire prevention; Must achieve within four (4) years of entry into Electrical Maintenance and maintain qualifications in the following areas: Indoctrination, or equivalent; Cables, conduit and terminations, or equivalent; Motors and Generators, or equivalent; Motor Controllers, or equivalent; Transformers and Busses, or equivalent; Batteries, or equivalent; Circuit breakers, or equivalent; Circuit Board repair, or equivalent. Must be able to: Work from drawings, circuit diagrams and specifications; Diagnose trouble and take proper corrective steps; and Follow the procedures as prescribed by the Company or derived therefrom for the safe operation of the Station; Must be certified to operate equipment such as fork lifts and cranes required in the work; 6, Must satisfactorily progress in and complete the prescribed training courses required by the Company or any regulatory agencies; Must have the ability to receive, interpret and pass on orders and instructions in a manner that will maintain harmony and safety and obtain cooperation and satisfactory work results from men assigned to the work; and Must possess: Ability to be flexible, accountable and responsible; b, Good manual dexterity; Normal color perception; Normal or corrected vision; and A cooperative temperament, be able to obtain and maintain harmony and cooperation with fellow employees and others whom work must be coordinated with and effectively work under pressure.
