IAA is a Auto Auction for insurance companies. In the Birmingham area two of their largest insurance partners are Geico and Progressive. IAA responds to car accidents and is responsible for towing the wrecked cars to their facility, where they will clean up the vehicles to be auctioned off. They are looking for individuals to work in the yard. The job will consist of cleaning vehicles out when they enter the facility, which this is called the Check In of the vehicle. Duties include: vacuum cars out, removing any trash in the vehicles, gather personal belongings and bag them up separately, wrap any broken glass in plastic wrapping, etc. From there, a candidate would also have to operate a hand held device to enter in information on the car such as: color, make, model, VIN number, visible damage, and determine the quality of the car. Respond to client and temporary associate concerns promptly; recommend and/or implement steps to resolve problems, prevent their reoccurrence, and document according to standard operating procedures. Walk the floor throughout the day, engaging with supervisors and associates, observing interactions, addressing safety issues, and assessing production demands. Complete injury reports and assist injured workers in getting medical treatment following company policy and procedures. Monitor turnover regularly and develop strategies to reduce turnover. Desired Skills & Experience for a On-Site Specialist: Experience in a customer service role preferred. Ability to work cross-functionally to proactively communicate and to resolve issues with the highest sense of urgency. Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
