Qualifications
* Completion of a laboratory assistant training program or coursework in medical laboratory science preferred
* 0-2 years of experience in a laboratory, healthcare, or clinical setting required
* Experience with specimen processing, laboratory equipment, and quality control procedures preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
* Basic knowledge of laboratory procedures, specimen handling, and medical terminology.
* Ability to operate basic laboratory equipment and perform routine maintenance tasks.
* Strong organizational and multitasking skills, ensuring timely completion of laboratory support tasks.
* Effective communication skills for interacting with laboratory staff, healthcare providers, and patients.

This position will provide direction and supervision for all the complex andrology lab procedures required for infertility care and In-Vitro Fertilization (IVF).

Responsibilities:
* Provides day-to-day oversight of andrologists and all andrology lab procedures and practices.

* Work such hours as may be required for the proper, effective, and timely performance of the andrology laboratory, including weekends, according to the operational needs of the department and in support of the smooth and efficient running of the service.
* Maintain quality control and assurance of the laboratory for COLA and CLIA compliance reviews.
* Be aware of clinical data outcomes and be able to discuss with the clinical care team and/or physicians.
* Ensure that the physical and environmental conditions of the laboratory are appropriate for the testing performed and provide a safe environment in which employees are protected from physical, chemical, and biological hazards.
* Coordinate Testicular Sperm Aspirations with outside physicians when required.
* Develop and maintain all weekend call schedules for the andrology team.
* Contribute to team effort by maintaining an excellent rapport and working relationship between lab team, other departments within practice and the Prelude network

Knowledge and Skills:
* High school diploma or GED required.

Job Description:
The Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) Pathology Level I is responsible for the processing of various patient specimens received for immunological testing performed at TNONC HMS, including, but not limited to, all bone marrow/peripheral blood, fluids and or tissues for leukemia/lymphoma, fluid-based (serum, urine, etc.) immunological tests (i.e. SPEP, UPEP, s-IFE, u-IFE, serum free light chains, and/or immunoglobulins), histological, molecular and/or FISH processing and clinical chemistry testing including diagnostic clinical tests and immunoassays. Candidates must qualify as a Toxicology General Supervisor under CLIA and hold a Tennessee General Supervisor license.
Responsibilities:
Provide day-to-day supervision of laboratory testing personnel in Toxicology, Chemistry, and Hematology.
Ensure compliance with all CLIA, state, and company standards, including test performance, documentation, and quality assurance activities.
Oversee validation, verification, and performance checks of assays and instrumentation.
Assist in maintaining and troubleshooting LCMS, chemistry analyzers, hematology equipment, and supporting instrumentation.
Review, interpret, and release patient results as permitted under state and federal regulations.
Train, mentor, and evaluate testing personnel; ensure competency assessments are performed on schedule.
Support internal and external inspections, including CAP, CLIA, and state surveys.
Collaborate with laboratory leadership to implement new assays, workflows, and process improvements.
Maintain detailed and accurate logs, documentation, SOPs, and quality records.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related biological/chemical science.
Current Tennessee General Supervisor License required.
Must meet CLIA requirements to function as a General Supervisor in Toxicology for a high-complexity laboratory.
Prior supervisory or lead experience in a clinical laboratory strongly preferred.
Hands-on experience in Toxicology, Chemistry, and Hematology required.
Familiarity with LCMS-based toxicology testing and method troubleshooting preferred.
Strong understanding of CLIA regulations, QA/QC programs, proficiency testing, and laboratory workflow.
Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
