Primarily performs various lab tests, such as blood counts, sodium and potassium analysis, serum chemistries, urinalysis, and a number of other procedures. Performs control-value testing on equipment, updates charts and records, schedules appointments, and maintains documentation in appropriate logs and files. Provides orientation to medical staff and inmates and maintains adequate and appropriate lab supplies. Assists in the Medical Unit supporting others as needed. Assignments to other duties or locations may be necessary to meet the clinical and administrative needs of the Department. This is a wage position limited to working no more than 1,500 hours per agency during the 12-month period of May 1 - April 30, regardless of the hire date. The wage employment period resets on May 1 of the following year. All wage employees are limited to working no more than 29 hours per week on average over the 12-month period. This wage position offers no state benefits.
