**Job Summary and Responsibilities** In keeping with the Dignity Health core values, a laboratory assistant performs routine automated testing in multiple areas of the clinical laboratory in a timely manner under direct supervision of licensed personnel. Has all quality control for testing performed reviewed by licensed personnel. Performs routine maintenance and repair on instruments utilized as directed. Other duties associated with clinical lab functions are clerical in nature, including, but not limited to such acts as patient registration, telephone communication, filing, sorting, distribution, typing, data entry and frequent use of laboratory computer system(s) to process specimens. Verifies eligibility, benefits, authorization requirements, PCP approval, and billing requirements as appropriate. May work out of various patient service centers. Use of personal vehicles may be required.

This position supports patient-centered care by working collaboratively to deliver timely results and follow-up for laboratory testing which supports optimal patient outcomes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Performs phlebotomy and processing of specimens to be sent to outside laboratory.
* Injects patients with medications after verification by a provider, to the extent permitted by law.
* Performs finger sticks and TB skin tests.
* Measures and describes skin test reaction in Electronic Health Record system (EHR) and reports to provider any reactions exceeding thresholds.
* Performs CLIA waived In-House tests ordered by providers.
* Maintains quality control of all In-House laboratory tests.
* Operates and maintains standard laboratory equipment (e.g., DCA, HemoCue, INRatio2, Autoclave, and Glucometer).
* Reviews and processes orders from EHR for laboratory testing of patients.
* Records In-House test results in Electronic Health Record system.
* Reviews and updates all Immediate Follow Ups for Pap tests in case management software daily.
* Inventories and orders all laboratory supplies and reviews laboratory invoices for accounts payable.
* Cleans and restocks laboratory equipment and supplies.
* Maintains monthly calibration of laboratory equipment.
* Helps with review and correction/completion of Quest Diagnostics denials.
* Assists the Call Center staff by reviewing patients charts and informing them when a patient is due for laboratory tests, immunizations, etc.
* Administers immunizations as directed by providers.
* Utilizes CAIR2 (CA Immunization Registry 2) for vaccine inventory and administration of all patients receiving vaccines; enters patient demographic and immunization information into CAIR2 and into the EHR.
* Assists provider staff in addressing abnormal laboratory results by contacting patients and getting them a walk-in or same day appointment to discuss results with the provider.
* Provides ABN forms to Medicare only patients before doing any laboratory procedures.
* Works with QI and Compliance Manager to address CoCasa reports or any other laboratory reports.
* Maintains a safe environment in the laboratory.
* Keeps work area clean and in an orderly manner.
* Checks email upon arrival every morning and throughout the day to keep himself/herself informed of day to day functions and important communications with administration and clinic staff.
* May need to cover at other sites if needed.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Demonstrates understanding of and observe all SBNC policies, procedures, rules and regulations.

* Ability to: Draw blood and perform injections as permitted by certification; follow verbal and written instructions; communicate effectively; use basic office equipment including computer, copy machine, fax machine, and postage meter.

Represent Histology department in various cross-functional initiatives.

Project description:
For quantum computing to reach utility-scale, tight integration of quantum processing units (QPUs) within HPC infrastructures will be necessary. An outstanding problem in this area is how to efficiently partition and distribute quantum workloads among multiple QPUs, as the number of qubits for interesting applications far exceeds what will fit on a single (even futuristic) QPU. Our team is developing three distinct thrusts:
1. Tensor network simulation of quantum many-body systems.
2. Tight HPC-QC integration by building state-of-the-art low-latency compilers
3. Distributed quantum error correction
As a research intern, you will aid in the development, implementation, and testing of these methods at HPC-scale. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and researchers to develop a crucial element of HPE's strategy on quantum computing.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Lab Technician supports ongoing research activities by preparing, processing, and analyzing biological samples, using a range of analytical instruments and laboratory equipment. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Experience with YSI analyzers or similar instrumentation is highly desirable.

Helps with review and correction/completion of Quest Diagnostics denials.
Assists the Call Center staff by reviewing patients charts and informing them when a patient is due for laboratory tests, immunizations, etc.
Administers immunizations as directed by providers.
Utilizes CAIR2 (CA Immunization Registry 2) for vaccine inventory and administration of all patients receiving vaccines; enters patient demographic and immunization information into CAIR2 and into the EHR.
Assists provider staff in addressing abnormal laboratory results by contacting patients and getting them a walk-in or same day appointment to discuss results with the provider.
Provides ABN forms to Medicare only patients before doing any laboratory procedures.
Works with QI and Compliance Manager to address CoCasa reports or any other laboratory reports.
Maintains a safe environment in the laboratory.
Keeps work area clean and in an orderly manner.
Checks email upon arrival every morning and throughout the day to keep himself/herself informed of day to day functions and important communications with administration and clinic staff.
May need to cover at other sites if needed.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
Experience: Seeking candidates with at least 2 years of prior experience in a medical care setting, including phlebotomy and injection experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Knowledge of: Medical terminology; laboratory safety practices; use of standard software such as Windows, Word and Excel.
Ability to: Draw blood and perform injections as permitted by certification; follow verbal and written instructions; communicate effectively; use basic office equipment including computer, copy machine, fax machine, and postage meter.
Preferred Qualifications: Ability to speak fluent Spanish as well as English. Minimum keyboard speed of 45 WPM.
Physical Demands: May be required to lift objects weighing up to 20 pounds. Sitting in a normal seated position for extended periods of time. Reaching by extending hand(s) or arm(s) in any direction. Finger dexterity required to manipulate objects with fingers rather than with whole hand(s) or arm(s), for example, using a keyboard. Communication skills using the spoken word. Ability to see within normal parameters. Ability to hear within normal range. Ability to move about.
Certification/License: Phlebotomy certificate required. Successful completion of SBNC s staff skills checklist within three months of the date of hire.

We are seeking an experienced Histologist to join the Biochemical Production (BCP) team in Carpinteria. As a key member of the Operations team in Carpinteria, you will join a small small group responsible for control cell line slide production and maintenance of the Operations tissue bank. The team works closely with other manufacturing and QC groups to meet production targets and complete continuous improvement initiatives.
* Carry out Microtomy in support of diagnostic product development, production and quality control.
* Perform IHC staining procedures as part of in-process quality control testing.
* Work closely with Planning and Finish Production to efficiently schedule and complete Histology orders to support pilot and commercial cancer diagnostic kit productions.
* Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, intermediates, and QC materials to ensure adequate supply of production and QC materials for downstream processes. Utilize ERP and LIMs systems for creation/closure of production batches, internal tissue orders, material transactions, and other production and non-production work.
* Maintain Operations Histology Lab and perform all tasks adhering to good manufacturing practices (GMP).
* Responsible for routine/daily preventative maintenance/cleaning of Histology equipment when in use.
* Independently fill production requests as needed to support ongoing production needs
* Communicate production issues and actively develop solutions. Act as SME to identify risk, and improve processes.
* Create and revise technical procedures, SOPs, forms and similar as needed. Process document updates within PLM systems (AGILE) for revisions, and non-conformance reporting.
* Represent Histology department in various cross-functional initiatives.
* Maintain training records
* Participate in technology validation and audit support when required.
Qualifications
* Degree or certification in related field preferred but not required
* Microtomy experience required, preferably from a production environment
