Four (4) years of laboratory experience as an MLT/HT (internal CLS2); OR Two (2) years of laboratory experience as a MT/HTL (internal CLS3)

Licensure/Certification
Registered with ASCP (or eligible for registry) as a Medical Technologist or equivalent
Compensation/Benefits
$26.77-$43.71/hr depending on previous experience

Essential Work Functions:
Prepare and position patients for cardiac catheterization, angioplasty, stent placement, electrophysiology studies, and other interventional procedures

Operate and maintain imaging equipment, contrast injectors, and hemodynamic monitoring systems, ensuring proper functionality

Assist with procedures to analyze, diagnose and treat the cardiovascular system.

Requirements
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
One or more of the following required:
Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
Cardiographic Tech credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Physical Demands
* While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, keyboard, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
Working Conditions & Travel Requirements
* Work will be performed in a variety of conditions including climate-controlled office and laboratory environment(s); in a manufacturing plant environment with varying conditions, such as cold areas, wet areas, warm areas, chemicals, and other site conditions; and in a farm environment including working outdoors in seasonal conditions with live animals and at times in dusty environments. This position requires the individual to wear and work in personal protective equipment while in the laboratory, manufacturing and farm environment. This individual may be working around sick or diseased animals where additional precautions may need to be taken.
* The noise level of the office, laboratory and farm environment is usually moderate. The noise level in the manufacturing environment may exceed 85 DBA and require hearing protection. Showering in and out of farm locations may be required.
* Occasional travel may be required.

Job Summary: Performs routine laboratory testing under general supervision. Minimum Education: Associate degree in chemical, physical or biological science or medical laboratory or equivalent education and training.
Licensure, Registration and/or Certification: National certification exam as a laboratory scientist that is accredited by an approved agency preferred.
Work Experience: 1 year lab experience with high complexity testing preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: PC skills needed for efficient computer utilization. Effective interpersonal, written and oral communication skills. Ability to organize work in an effective and efficient manner. Ability to be detail oriented in the examination of clinical and numerical data.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Collect and process biological specimens and other substances. Performs and reports routine analytical tests under direction of medical technologist, recognizing factors that affect procedures and results, and taking appropriate actions within predetermined limits when corrections are indicated. Perform and monitor quality control within predetermined limits. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of equipment under direction of medical technologist. Supports laboratory goals by demonstrating teamwork, service excellence, adhering to established guidelines and policies. Looks for ways to improve processes. Works with medical laboratory science students during educational laboratory activities.
Decision Making: Independent judgment in making minor decisions where alternatives are limited and standard policies/protocols have been established.
