Department: Blood Bank FTE: Full Time, 1.0, 80.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks) Shift: Days Pay: $29.54 - $44.31 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience Performs laboratory testing of patient specimens in one or more sections of the laboratory. Responsibilities: * Performs diagnostic/analytic testing of specimens. Interprets, documents and reports test results. * Performs quality control testing, instrument maintenance and troubleshooting. * Complies with good laboratory practice and regulatory requirements. * Performs projects as assigned as well as serves as a resource to laboratory staff and other clinical staff as needed. * Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action. Requirements: * Bachelor's degree and graduate of an accredited Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Scientist program. * Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) by the American Medical Technologists (AMT) or as a Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or categorical ASCP certification in a laboratory specialty/sub-specialty as applicable to job responsibilities. * State licensure if required by law. Certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire. * BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date.
