Job Summary and Qualifications
As a Medical Laboratory Scientist at our facility you will be an integral part of our Laboratory team. We are a highly functioning team that supports many different departments and has a passion for providing the best patient care through compassionate, professional interactions and reliable testing. In this role:
· You will be responsible for receiving blood specimens, performing blood tests, and studying the morphology of the components of blood.
· You will perform various routine or special clinical laboratory tests in one or more sections of the Laboratory using automated equipment, manual testing, and microscopic analysis to obtain data for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease.
· You will be responsible for maintaining and using various equipment in the Laboratory including automated, chemistry analyzers, ion-specific electrodes, osmometers, and other analyzers.
· You will perform antibody screening, antibody identification, and cross-matching procedures required in the administration of blood/blood components and identify antibodies in donors or patient's blood that could react adversely during transfusion.
· You will notify nursing units and/or physicians of critical lab values.
· You will implement new testing methods, products, and instrumentation as appropriate to keep department current with technology.
Qualifications:
· Graduate of an accredited Medical Technology program (Associate's degree acceptable) and/or a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology, Chemistry, or Biology with appropriate certification (may be hired prior to graduation upon completion of required course work for graduation).
· Nationally recognized certification as a Medical Technologist (MT/MLS or MLT) from the American Society for Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or equivalent.
o This licensure must be completed within 1 year of hire.
· One year of experience working in a hospital or other clinical laboratory setting is preferred; new graduates will be considered.
· American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification.

Minimum Education: High school diploma, and minimal laboratory experience AND currently matriculated in a university while majoring in Microbiology or a closely related field
Strong laboratory training in Life Sciences
Clear understanding of the importance of maintaining a clean workspace by following approved procedures and laboratory regulations for testing, health, and safety
Able and willing to work required schedule, including weekends as assigned
Critical and analytical thinker
Fluency in English is required

Analytical Resource Laboratories LLC is a third-party quality testing laboratory in the food, cosmetics, dietary supplements, and pharmaceutical industry. It was established on January 1, 2000. In 2015, ARL partnered with Tentamus North America, Inc., a network of laboratories headquarter in Germany, to form International Contract Laboratories, LLC. We celebrate 22 years of serving the industry. We offer microbiology and chemistry testing services, as well as method development, to manufacturers, retailers, raw material providers, and even consumers. Raba Kistner is seeking a detailed-oriented, dependable Laboratory Technician I to join our Infrastructure team in the Midvale, UT area. The Lab Tech I position will be sampling, processing, and testing materials according to established procedures and specifications. Other responsibilities include:
Perform and keep documentation of routine maintenance and calibration of equipment.
Prepare testing and inspection reports, and safely maintaining documents.
Regularly review test procedures, plans, specifications, general notes, and shop/working drawings before performing assigned duties.
Continual communication with direct report regarding priorities, deadlines, progress, and delays on all projects.
Demonstrate the safe usage, storage, and maintenance of all tools and equipment, including company vehicle.
Meet deadlines and priorities according to established procedures.
Maintain effective working relationships with internal and external personnel.
Understand, adhere, and participate in the Raba Kistner Health & Safety and BBS Programs, setting a good example of our safety standards.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
Completion of Troxler Manufacturing or equal radiation safety course to utilize nuclear gauges, ACI Field Testing Technician Grade 1, and ACI Concrete Strength Testing are all preferred. Otherwise successful applicants without these certifications/trainings may be required to attain them after employment. Related experience may be substituted with approval from the client. Good oral and written communications skills, ability to read and understand procedures, specifications, instruction, labels, reports, etc.is key. Must have some knowledge of basic math and science to analyze lab results.
