Essential Duties and Responsibilities Employee must pass a fitness for duty test, drug screen and submit to a TB test on a post offer employment physical. Perform chemical tests that are simply chemistry in nature that include acid-base titrations (both manual and automated versions), solid and moisture determinations, color comparison testing, pH determination, conductivity, water in sample content measures, density and viscosity measures. Perform other special chemical and physical tests common to water treatment products and lubricant additives manufacturing. Perform instrumental testing such as FTIR, XRF, GC & HPLC chromatography and gel-permeation chromatography (GPC). Electronically log in and label samples. Communication with production staff and notify of test results. Read temperature charts and graphs. Build and maintain a basic understanding of TRCC products and chemistries. Job Title: E-Lab Technician Department: Product Engineering Reports To: Lab Manager Shift/Schedule: Office Hours This position is responsible for providing direct technical support for the build, acceptance testing, proving/validation/qualification testing and technical troubleshooting of prototype ignition system components or airframe power products in a laboratory environment. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES/COMPETENCIES Read and understand detailed drawings, circuit board schematics, and work instructions to assist in manufacture of prototype ignition system components. Populate prototype circuit boards, soldering (fine pitch surface mount, thru-hole, and point to point wiring), and execution of testing under written and/or verbal instructions. Inspect circuit boards using various diagnostic equipment and techniques to ensure conformance of components and assemblies to the relevant engineering requirements. Design and manufacture basic tools, test equipment and circuits that may be required to manufacture or inspect electronic assemblies. Provide marked up drawings, schematics, and work instructions to document the actual assembly methods used in building prototypes. Assist with proving, qualification and functional testing of experimental ignition system components to engineering requirements to support qualification of the product. This may include programming of PLCs, temperature controllers or other similar devices to automate vibration, electrical, thermal, EMI or other testing requirements. Perform testing and disassembly of prototypes to support evaluation of developmental and field returned hardware.
