Job Title: Service Layout Technician Trainee
The Service Layout Technician Trainee will be learning and practicing all skills necessary to provide excellent service to customers alongside other Design staff members. Works within NFPA, building, and underwritten standards to create and draft sprinkler designs.
Works to achieve annual company objectives and personal performance goals.
Essential Duties / Responsibilities:
Primary duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Ability to learn how to complete a sprinkler drawing as detailed in most current NFPA standards documentation.
Ability to learn how to identify the building construction type as identified in most NFPA standards documentation.
Ability to learn how to identify the type of hazard and the appropriate protection for it.
Learn how to become familiar with a project budget and work within that budget.
Ability to learn how to coordinate work with other trades on complex projects.
Ability to learn how to understand and resolve coordination problems.
Ability to learn how to effectively design a project; including cutting pipe with all appropriate fittings.
Ability to learn how to select all required materials for installation.
Ability to learn how to operate the present version of either AutoCAD and all current AutoCAD tools or AutoSPRINK.
Ability to learn how to run Navis Works and develop clash reports.
Ability to learn how to coordinate pipe drawing, heads, hangers & other sprinkler components critical to design, field or other trade affected (non-complex project).

What you will do:

· QA Techs are responsible for ensuring adherence to food quality and food safety rules and regulations as required by the quality standards and/or Safe Quality Food requirements
· Ensure all products being run conform to the product specifications as outlined in SAP by conducting analysis on raw deliveries, syrup batches, and treated water
· Conduct chemical and physical analysis on raw and intermediate processing materials including packaging materials and determine status of materials (acceptable or not)
· Maintain accurate, legible records of all tests and retests performed
· Work closely with all departments to improve quality, increase efficiencies, increase yields, and eliminate out of specification or damaged product
· Evaluate finished products against current standards by performing audits to monitor all aspects of finished product and packaging integrity
· Check process control parameters to assure proper equipment application and operation is being maintained by performing secure seal, closure torque, and seaming checks.
· Maintain laboratory cleanliness
· Complete special projects and other reasonable duties as assigned by senior support

Working Conditions:
· Physical- Most if not all days in this position require continuous standing or walking along with a requirement to lift, handle, or carry material of moderate weight
· Visual/ Sensory- This position requires regular need to give moderate attention with one or two senses at a time
· Work environment- Nature of work and environment are repetitive however tasks may vary day to day
· Mental Stress- There is pronounced pressure from deadlines, production quotas, and accuracy demands as well as similar stresses day to day.

What you'll do
Selects, prepares and mixes solutions or coatings according to formulas and specifications and creates spray recipes and sequences for spraying.
Plans, develops, writes, revises, documents, tests, implements and controls programs for robots as applicable.
Operates blasting equipment to clean and prepare the surface of materials and components.
Prepares and masks parts with fixtures, rubber, tape, tafa, antibond or metal masks prior to coating.
Sets up and operates various types of manual, semi-automatic and/or robotic spray systems to apply substances to parts.
Sets bake/cure oven controls for correct temperature and records time on process charts.
Removes masking, cleans overspray and washes parts.
Inspects surfaces visually for defects and compliance with specifications using micrometers, calipers, elcometers, profilometers, or related devices prior to and after applying coating.
Cleans and maintains spray/coating equipment, fixtures and blast cabinets.
Participates in continuous improvement of cell processes.
Cross trains in other complementary skills and seeks endorsements for those skills as needed to support production requirements.
Moves between production assignments that utilize multiple skills endorsements as needed to support production requirements.
Participates in the cross training of other technicians as needed to support production requirements.
Responsible for observing all applicable safety requirements and reporting immediately any unsafe practices/conditions.
Carries out other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
Attainment of applicable internal process stamp(s).
Proficient in the use of precision measuring instruments.
Ability to read, understand and interpret blueprints.
Working knowledge of related company instructions, company processes, reworks process instructions, original equipment manufacturer manuals and MSDS labels.
Working knowledge of production management computer system and other related internal control systems.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (unassisted) for approximately 25% of the average work day.
Regularly required to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods.
