Job overview and responsibilities
Senior Line Engineers are part of a service engineering team that provide 24/7 engineering technical support for United Airlines Worldwide fleet of operational aircraft to ensure the timely return to service. Provide engineering support for a wide range of aircraft systems, maintenance programs, engines as well as operational engineering functions. Studies, analyzes, and seeks solutions to problems related to the design, operation, maintenance, performance, modification, or repair of aircraft, and their components. Uses a structured, logical, and analytical approach in problem solving. Defines maintenance program, configuration, and serviceability criteria ensuring safe and legal operations. Analyzes and implements regulatory requirements. Evaluates the effects of modifications or new equipment on reliability and performance. Evaluates the benefits of the cost impact of a fleet decision to ensure an optimum balance of cost, asset utilization, quality, and reliability. Authors, designs, tests, and manages projects. Communicates with customers on technical issues, work scope recommendations, and failure investigations. Interfaces with internal and external organizations regarding specific aircraft and component issues.
This position leads and develops potentially complex solutions and implementation plans, project justification, cost/benefit analysis, management of project implementation, technical support, and obtaining FAA approvals as required.
Coordinate work with other operational groups to ensure airworthiness, safety, regulatory compliance, operational reliability, and operational efficiency.
Organize and manage the priorities for assigned responsibilities and accomplish the work processes to meet all the deliverables for operational needs, projects, and program changes/technical specification revisions.
Shifts are dependent on work location and assignment and will be designated during the interview process as required. It is important to note that shifts may change based on the needs of the operation.

Qualifications

The base pay range for this role is $97,945.00 to $133,540.00.

* Able to coordinate with Subcontractors and Suppliers.
* Responsible for the review and maintenance of subcontractor non-compliance and coordinates with QA/QC.
* Verifies that all completed work complies with applicable codes, drawings and specifications.
* Researches and resolves drawing interpretation problems, conflicts, interference, and errors.
* Researches and proposes solutions to quality control issues.
* Creates and processes RFI's.
* Prepares field design change requisitions and "as built" drawings, as required.
* Demonstrates schedule understanding in coordination with construction logistics and construction sequencing.
* Prepares and disseminates all required documentation records such as status reports, punch lists describing work items to be done, sketches of work already completed, material requirement calculations, etc., to supervisor.
* Understands company's quality control plan and takes weekly photos to document any quality control issues.
* Reviews and comments on viability of design as required. Conducts value engineering functions.
* Aware of target vs. actual productivity on self performed work.
* Sensitive to Environmental issues and management of them.
* Helps to create a safe work site and identifies job hazards to reduce danger.
* Understands company safety program and participates in safety inspections.
* Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations to include health, safety, and welfare as appropriate.
* Participates in job walks and documents and reports findings.
* Understands PCO process and minimal ability in identifying PCO/change orders.
* Performs quantity takeoffs
* Understand the impacts of project performance on insurance and bond.
* Demonstrates advanced knowledge of discipline, construction technology, design, applicable codes standards, etc., required
* Performs all other duties as assigned by supervisor.
* Ability to successfully prioritize and manage multiple projects.
* Good written and oral communications and team skills.
* Performs work tasks by receiving direction and then working independently with an interest in quickly learning and applying new skills and abilities.
* Analyzes and resolves construction process problems and issues and effectively communicates and interfaces with all levels of personnel.

REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management or four years' experience in the construction management field of work;
* Minimum five (5) years of experience as an entry level Project Engineer working on projects in the field.
* Experience with large commercial projects; healthcare, higher education, corporate campuses, justice, science & technology is desired.
* Ability to communicate well with multiple levels of personnel
* Manage multiple demands simultaneously
* Works well at project sites in the field environment
* Knowledge of plan reading required.
* Intermediate knowledge of Windows Operating Systems; Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.
* Knowledge of AutoCAD product line.
* Knowledge of scheduling, estimating and cost software.
