Role Overview:
The Loan Processor gathers documentation, obtains credit reports, verifies income and employment, and ensures all requirements are met to complete loan applications. This role involves explaining loan options, processing applications, disbursing approved loans, and cross-selling credit union products and services.
Key Responsibilities
Interview loan applicants (in person, phone or email) and gather complete credit application information.
Explain loan options, rates, terms, and collateral requirements; provide credit education.
Process new loan applications, organize loan packages, and ensure all documentation is complete for decision-making.
Order credit reports, verify information, and maintain accurate member files.
Disburse approved loans and complete Home Equity settlements in compliance with policies.
Respond to member inquiries and resolve lending issues professionally.
Provide phone coverage for the department queue and process lien releases, payoffs, and other member requests.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; college-level courses in accounting or credit analysis preferred.
24 years of experience in consumer lending, credit cards, or mortgage processing.
Knowledge of lending policies, procedures, and regulations.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and internet applications.
Strong communication, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain attention to detail.
Service-oriented mindset and ability to work in a branch and office environment.

Eleven (11) paid per year
Leave:
You will earn Paid Time Off and Personal, Sick and disability leave. Annual leave is accrued at 4.6 hours per pay period (15 days per year). Two personal days are earned per year. Sick leave is accrued at 4.62 hours per pay period with a maximum accrual per year of 120 hours.
Insurances:
Employees are offered medical, prescription, dental, vision and disability insurance. The credit union pays a portion of the monthly premium, and the employee pays a portion. Available providers and costs will be discussed during orientation. All insurance except disability is effective the first of the month following date of hire.
Life Insurance:
All full-time employees are required to have Group Term Life (GTL) insurance equal to 1xs their basic annual earnings, up to $200,000. Active employees over age 65, their coverage is reduced to 65% of the pre-65 face value. This policy is County paid 80%, and employee paid 20%. Additional coverage can be purchased. Information will be available during orientation.
401(a)/Deferred Compensation:

Position Overview:
