    Description and Functions Open Until Filled GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Wyoming Department of Corrections (WDOC) contributes to public safety by exercising reasonable, safe, secure, and humane management while actively providing offenders opportunities to become law-abiding citizens. The Field Services Division is seeking a motivated and organized individual for an Interstate Compact Specialist. This position will process interstate compact transfers received from our probation/parole field agents, the WDOC institutions, and the contracted halfway houses to other states; as well as process incoming transfer requests for probationers and parolees desiring to transfer to Wyoming. In addition, if the outgoing transfer is accepted by the receiving state, the Interstate Compact Specialist will monitor and track the offender's compliance with his/her supervision requirements. Human Resource Contact: Anna Krier ****************************** ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function that may be performed in the job level. Monitors and tracks a caseload of Wyoming offenders whose probation/parole supervision has been transferred to another state under the Interstate Compact for Adult Offender Supervision (ICAOS). Monitors offender compliance with the conditions of probation/parole through correspondence with probation/parole personnel in other states. Contact the Clerks of Court to verify payment of ordered monetary obligations. Consults with judicial personnel and other criminal justice personnel on what action to take on offenders violating conditions of supervision. Performs paralegal duties for the courts' and parole board's review and consideration by preparing affidavits, petitions, orders, and warrants. Performs functions of the Wyoming Interstate Compact office in compliance with the ICAOS Rules and other federal, state, and local laws, and agency policy. Provides information and/or training about the Compact andthe Interstate Compact Offender Tracking System (ICOTS)to agents, offenders, criminal justice personnel, and others. Tracks the movement of offenders across state lines, i.e., out-of-state offenders coming into Wyoming and Wyoming offenders going to other states. Ensures all ICOTS functions are completed within ICAOS time requirements. Reviews ICOTS documents for accuracy and completeness prior to transmission to another state and prior to transmission to our field offices. Contact Interstate Compact offices in other states and Wyoming field offices, as needed, to accomplish the above tasks. Prepares transfer applications and other documents electronically for Wyoming offenders being supervised out of state who are requesting to transfer to a third state. Monitors Wyoming probationers/parolees who are incarcerated in other states, or who have been deported. Processes incoming and outgoing mail for the Compact office, including requests for information from agents, criminal justice organizations, and private entities. Copy file materials as requested by Wyoming field offices, prosecutors, Attorney General's Office, law enforcement, probation/parole agents from other states, Child Support, federal probation, and others in a timely manner. Uses the microfiche machine and electronic database for copying older file materials. Responds to telephone inquiries for information. Qualifications PREFERENCES: Preference may be given to applicants who have worked in a correctional setting. KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of Wyoming laws and the criminal justice system, probation/parole policies and procedures, departmental policies, parole board procedures, and adult community corrections regulations.
