The Operations Manager is responsible for the success of assigned functions within the distribution center, ensuring all key metrics are met, supporting company policies, procedures and safety while creating an inclusive high performance culture.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Ensure all Safety policies and procedures are adhered to and enforced at all times
Lead and manage a team of front line managers in the daily planning and execution of daily operations of assigned functional areas within the Distribution Center
Manage team performance to meet or exceed established cost, productivity, quality and service targets
Plan, monitor, appraise, and manage subordinate performance results
Models the Company's values so to influence others to perform in an aligned manner
Develop subordinate leadership team through mentoring, coaching and training so to enable a global perspective as well as promoting optimal results within the multifunctions of the operation
Provide necessary communication and motivation to staff; monitor individual performance via observation and review of various productivity metrics; counsel and discipline as necessary
Manage staffing, supply and equipment needs based on forecasted volumes
and ensure that established policies, rules and regulations, and procedures are followed
Lead the creation and sustainment of a culture of continuous process improvement and associate engagement
Conduct regularly scheduled functional area reviews/reporting and provide follow-up
Troubleshoot and provide solutions for issues of a moderate to complex scope
Execute assigned operational responsibilities to achieve assigned KPIs while staying within budget parameters. React to variances and approve plans to get back on plan
Develop and/or manage KPIs to ensure performance, service, quality and cost goals are achieved
Ensure work instructions are documented and current for all functional areas and escalate any changes to SOP to appropriate partner. Receive and approve all related process changes to improve efficiencies, safety, etc.
Ensure all training/cross-training plans are achieved on time as scheduled
Ensure that a climate of openness, trust and respect exists for each Associate
Establish courses of action for self and others to ensure that work objectives are approached with a sense of urgency, attacked in a standardized manner, and consistent with building goals and objectives

Job Requirements

Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
Develop and implement a logistics strategy aligned with the company's multi-site data center build plan and supplier footprint.
Establish standard logistics processes, tools, and KPIs to support procurement execution and construction milestones across all regions. Partner with category leads (electrical, mechanical, and modular systems) to integrate logistics planning into sourcing decisions and supplier agreements.
Anticipate logistics risks-such as port congestion, carrier capacity, or customs delays-and drive mitigation plans.
Operational Execution
Oversee end-to-end movement of equipment and materials from suppliers to site, including international freight, customs clearance, domestic trucking, and on-site delivery coordination.
Manage logistics partners (3PLs, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and carriers) to ensure consistent service quality and performance.
Design and implement regional logistics hubs or staging yards to consolidate material flows and improve delivery predictability.
Maintain real-time visibility to material status through logistics tracking tools and supplier reporting.
Partner with Construction and Site Operations to plan delivery sequencing and avoid laydown congestion or storage inefficiencies.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Alignment
Collaborate with Procurement, Construction, Program Management, and Engineering to forecast logistics needs tied to build schedules.
Work with OEMs and EPC partners to align shipping readiness, delivery windows, and site-specific constraints.
Provide logistics visibility and reporting to project leadership, highlighting risks and opportunities for acceleration.
Support project teams with logistics-related budgeting and change management inputs.
Governance & Compliance
Ensure compliance with all trade, import/export, and transportation regulations.
Develop and maintain qualification criteria and performance scorecards for logistics partners.
Manage logistics contracts and service-level agreements, ensuring cost control and risk mitigation.
Enforce standards for packaging, labeling, documentation, and safe handling of critical equipment.
Required Traits, Expertise, and Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or Engineering.
10+ years of logistics or supply chain experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role supporting capital projects or large-scale construction.
Strong background in international and domestic freight management, including multimodal transportation.
Proven ability to manage 3PLs, freight forwarders, and customs operations across multiple geographies.
Experience supporting construction or infrastructure delivery in sectors such as data centers, energy, or industrial facilities.
Proficiency with ERP, logistics visibility tools, and project scheduling platforms (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Procore).

Experience within a colocation data center developer or other hyperscale supply chain environment.

Job Summary:
The Commercial Supervisor oversees the crew and move process specified in a commercial job scope of work. The supervisor acts as the point of contact with the client, directs the order and assignment of work duties, and coordinates with the company sales and operations staff.

SET THE COURSE
Ensure accurate and timely processing of inbound shipments in compliance with corporate receiving goals and regulatory requirements. Oversee the completion of all receiving documentation and functions and manage shipment dates in Blue Cherry while assisting with inbound scheduling to the distribution center.

Receive and review packing slips for all inbound shipments; create and distribute accurate receiving packets.

Collaborate with team members to provide break coverage for Auburn Security Guard as needed.
