Role Summary:
The Extrusion Operator is responsible for setting up jobs on the extruder. This includes changing the die set, putting on deckles, setting gaps on rollers, filling the extruder with materials, and maintaining the extruder to produce rolls of plastic to be sold or used in production. All work is performed in a climate- controlled environment.

Job DescriptionDescription:
Install, maintain, and operatemachinery according to instruction given by the Production Supervisor and/or Management. Assures consistent quality of production by operatingmachinery within parameters set by specifications for individual products. Includes following instructions; monitoring machine parameters; utilizing tools and machinery; filling documentation; interacting with staff.
Requirements:
Essential Job Duties and responsibilities:
Set up and operate production machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.
Verify line settings (operations/packaging) of equipment per established specifications.
Maintains machinery to achieve optimum performance using tools available.
May make needed repairs to machinery with instruction from Production Supervisor or Management.
Interacts with quality control and other staff to ensure proper documentation is being filled out and quality control weights and measures are being documented.
Verify weights/measures of finished product during manufacturing per established specifications.
Adjusts machine settings to complete tasks accurately, according to specifications and in a timely fashion.
Log data from testing performed, including weights and burst tank test.
Communicate to Supervisor/Management in a professional manner.
Follow and improve area processes as needed.
Housekeeping and sanitation.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to follow direction and fill forms for providing in-process quality control measures.
Ability to communicate clearly, professionally, and effectively.
Reading and comprehension abilities.
Must be able to pass food safety training.
As needed, must be able to work all shifts, weekends.
Ability to work in a Team environment in a positive manner of respect, cooperation & flexibility.
Minimum Qualification Standards:
Education Requirement: High School Diploma or equivalent degree and training.
Equivalent combinations of education and work experience will be considered.
Equipment, Machines, and Software Used:
This position requires the regular use of F/F/S (form/fill/seal) machinery and other large equipment like the V-blender. Ability to interpret machine settings with some understanding of computer functions.
Physical Activities and Requirements:
Ability to lift 50 pounds. Requires ability to continually stand and walk for up to 10-hour days.

Role Summary:
The Extrusion Operator is responsible for setting up jobs on the extruder. This includes changing the die set, putting on deckles, setting gaps on rollers, filling the extruder with materials, and maintaining the extruder to produce rolls of plastic to be sold or used in production. All work is performed in a climate- controlled environment.

* Overseeing each job that runs and ensures each job is completed

* Changing the rolls on the extruder, using a hoist to lift and carry the roll to the skid
* Perform maintenance activities on the extruder
* Help with other tasks within the department
* Follows good manufacturing practices to ensure product safety.
* Ability to work independently and have sound technical judgment to work without much technical direction from manager.

* Dexterity and the ability to work quickly and accurately

Physical Demands:
* Frequent lifting of 15-25 lbs/Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs/More than 50 lbs requires a team lift
* Frequent repetitious tasks with upper extremities
* Prolonged periods of standing on concrete floor
* Ability to correctly wear/use personal protective equipment including long sleeves as required
* Frequent climbing steps and/or ladders while working on elevated platforms
* Work involves exposure to high temperatures within a climate-controlled environment.
Training:
* This position will ideally complete initial training on 1st shift (Monday-Friday, 5:45 AM-2:00 PM) for approximately six weeks before transitioning to 3rd shift (Sunday-Thursday, 9:45 PM-6:00 AM). If training on 1st shift is not feasible, training may be completed on 3rd shift.
