    Job DescriptionDescription: The Production Associate in the Machine Shop will perform the simple operation of various production tasks. Processes and procedures employees are expected to follow are located in the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for each machine and function the associates perform. All associates are expected to read and understand the SOP prior to utilizing equipment or performing job-related tasks. Typical job duties include: -Perform simple operation using a production machine such as gang, sensitive, or automatic drill presses, various types of milling machines, special channeling machines, special deburring machines, broaching machines, punch presses, riveting machines, degreasing and washing machines and all other machines in the Production Machine Shop where setups and adjustments are made by others. -Place piece part in holding fixtures provided and clamp in place. -Start machines by push button or lever. -Unclamp and remove piece part when machine completes operation and repeat the cycle. -Operate one or more machines concurrently as necessary according to length of cycle to ensure continuous activity. -Check piece parts with simple go and no-go gauges as necessary and report obvious visual defects indicating dull tools or need of adjustment. -Replace simple tools where dull or make very minor adjustments as necessary such as are required in channeling machine operation. -Majority of work requires standing or moving between machines but occasional seated positions on some operations withing the scope of the work are permitted. -Remove chips and leave machine in orderly condition at end of shift.
