DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS • Maximize piece-rate speed on tasks assigned. • Set up the machine accurately by proper setup techniques. • Ensure all bolts for cutting dies are in place and tightly secured. • Monitor board quality, including - loose liner, warp, dimensions, caliper, and any other defects. Report any quality problems to the operator and sort as necessary to keep the machine running. • Work at a pace set by the machine operator. • Willing to work on any part of the line of progression to the operator regardless of shift. • Helps operators adhere to production schedules. Makes recommendations for optimizing the schedule to meet cost, quality, and service goals. Reports any unusual scheduling issues to the Supervisor. Read and follow instructions as provided by the supervisor. • Work together with crew/team in all assigned projects. • Keep the work area clean and organized. • Maximize piece-rate speed on tasks assigned. • Learn other job positions as necessary. • Complete necessary reports in an accurate and timely manner, including but not limited to Production Data, Machine Operational Status, Safety Data, and Quality Data. • Turn in equipment work orders to supervision for needed repairs. The Manufacturing Specifications Specialist is responsible for insuring the accuracy of all product specifications for all print production orders. Examines specifications and validates material, tooling and processes in order to produce products conforming to the customer requirements. Confers with department heads, research and development and production personnel to develop or confirm information regarding various elements and determine factors that affect performance. Compiles and analyzes feedback from multiple departments to maintain current & accurate specifications. Essential Functions: Maintains product specifications utilizing the print management system. Maintains detailed technical knowledge of Phenix Label Company's manufacturing capabilities and constantly increases knowledge on the changes and advances of the label and packaging industries. Maintains an understanding of flexographic and digital printing, processes, tools, services and materials to ensure accurate and current product specifications. Communicates product changes throughout the manufacturing process. Performs on a cross-functional team with the Estimator to generate RFQ's along with providing backup as necessary. Completes any reasonable request by management necessary to effectively operate the department/company. Suggests improvements to procedures, and acts to improve timeliness or reduce costs. Ensures adherence to all quality control processes and procedures. Skills and Experience Required: Individual must be able to work independently with minimal guidance required. Must do visual inspection of boxes to insure proper box/tray is used and the graphics on the box/tray are acceptable. Watch flow of materials, i.e. Cans/bottles/boxes/trays, etc… into appropriate machine. Clear jams if necessary. Must insure proper coding is on the bottle, cans, boxes/trays, and if applicable the graphics are acceptable. Must insure closures and lids are properly applied. Verify flavor and size according to schedule. Report any major defects to the Lead person and/or Manager. Monitor the machine while running. Check to see that all bottles, cans are packed into the box correctly. Fill glue pot's as necessary. Verify case code is correct as scheduled. Clear your machine of all products at end of each run and at the end of your shift. Must follow the work rules at all times. GMP compliance MUST be adhered to at all times. Is responsible to report any quality issue to the Lead person, QA Technician and/or Manager. Assist in relieving other operators for lunch breaks. Keep work area clean at all times. This will involve set up, adjusting, maintaining, and configuring processing equipment according to assigned specifications, and regular communication with production personnel and supervisors and the completion of required paperwork.
