The Manufacturing Specifications Specialist is responsible for insuring the accuracy of all product specifications for all print production orders. Examines specifications and validates material, tooling and processes in order to produce products conforming to the customer requirements. Confers with department heads, research and development and production personnel to develop or confirm information regarding various elements and determine factors that affect performance. Compiles and analyzes feedback from multiple departments to maintain current & accurate specifications. Essential Functions: Maintains product specifications utilizing the print management system. Must do visual inspections and complete documentation during the run to insure defect free work. Load corrugate, labels, bottles/cans, glue, carriers etc… in appropriate machines. Performs minor package change-overs on equipment as required, as well as change- over to proper raw material. Performs preventative maintenance on equipment with regards to cleaning and clearing them of debris and materials. Assist line mechanics in machinery repair or other tasks as/if needed. Must insure that all equipment is on and functioning properly prior to starting a run. Air is on, all conveyors are on. Must do visual inspection of boxes to insure proper box/tray is used and the graphics on the box/tray are acceptable. Watch flow of materials, i.e. Cans/bottles/boxes/trays, etc… into appropriate machine. Clear jams if necessary. Must insure proper coding is on the bottle, cans, boxes/trays, and if applicable the graphics are acceptable. Must insure closures and lids are properly applied. Check to see that all bottles, cans are packed into the box correctly. Fill glue pot's as necessary. Verify case code is correct as scheduled. Machine Adjuster Minimum Requirements: * Must be at least 18 years of age. * Basic working knowledge of mechanical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. * Experience operating mechanical production type equipment preferred. * Ability to use power and non-power hand tools. * Ability to stand for prolonged periods, reach overheard, twist and bend at the waist, climb ladders and stairs. * Ability to lift and carry 30-40 lbs., push up to 1,000 lbs. pounds, including team lifts and use of support devices (hand cart, pallet jacks, gondolas, etc.) * Must have full vision, including color vision. * Ability and willingness to work any shift, including weekends and overtime. Machine Specialist Preferred Qualifications: * Please note, to be considered for the Specialist level position, you must meet all posted requirements above and below: * Demonstrated advanced experience in machine operation including but not limited to adjustments, repairs and maintenance including preventative maintenance, and tooling change overs. * Familiarity with automated system management including HMI, PLC systems, or CNC equipment. * Experience operating mechanical equipment or heavy equipment such as hand trucks or forklifts. * Hands on experience with diagnosis of machine issues and repair. Examples including but not limited to repairs and diagnostic experience with automotive, ATV's, small engine repair etc. Experience repairing manufacturing line equipment preferred. * Experience with machining tools such as lathes, milling machines, saws, fabrication and/or blueprints. * Ability to use measuring devices, micrometers, calipers. Location-Specific Requirements: * This position requires successful vetting as an Employee Possessor in accordance with U.S. Department of Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. * This position requires access to ITAR controlled technical data, and as such, employment will be contingent upon the candidate's ability to access ITAR controlled technical data pursuant to an export license approved by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls, if required. * This position requires successful vetting for unescorted access in accordance with U.S. Army and Department of Defense access policies.
