ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Must be able to firmly grip all tools used with dominant hand, using proper technique to complete the required tasks
Visually inspect products or completed tasks
Must be able to ensure products are within specification
Required to wear all safety and personal protective equipment (PPE) such as mesh gloves, wrist protectors, ear muffs, hair and beard nets, and rubber soled shoes
May be required to “fill-in” for other positions when there is a need.

Turns on all support equipment necessary to run the facility as needed.
Must do visual inspections and complete documentation during the run to insure defect free work.
Load corrugate, labels, bottles/cans, glue, carriers etc… in appropriate machines.
Performs minor package change-overs on equipment as required, as well as change- over to proper raw material.
Performs preventative maintenance on equipment with regards to cleaning and clearing them of debris and materials.
Assist line mechanics in machinery repair or other tasks as/if needed.
Must insure that all equipment is on and functioning properly prior to starting a run. Air is on, all conveyors are on.
Must do visual inspection of boxes to insure proper box/tray is used and the graphics on the box/tray are acceptable.
Watch flow of materials, i.e. Cans/bottles/boxes/trays, etc… into appropriate machine. Clear jams if necessary.
Must insure proper coding is on the bottle, cans, boxes/trays, and if applicable the graphics are acceptable.
Must insure closures and lids are properly applied.
Verify flavor and size according to schedule.
Report any major defects to the Lead person and/or Manager.
Monitor the machine while running. Check to see that all bottles, cans are packed into the box correctly.
Fill glue pot's as necessary.
Verify case code is correct as scheduled.
Clear your machine of all products at end of each run and at the end of your shift.
Must follow the work rules at all times. GMP compliance MUST be adhered to at all times.
Is responsible to report any quality issue to the Lead person, QA Technician and/or Manager.
Assist in relieving other operators for lunch breaks.
Keep work area clean at all times.
Shut down all equipment at end of shift if line is going down for the day.
Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Short distance walking of 5-15 feet on a periodic basis during the shift, depending upon the position assigned.

**Responsibilities**
+ This job requires an employee to be certified to perform the specific function(s) in the pasting department.
+ Will be required to do first piece inspection during the 1st hour of the day at their assigned station.
+ Must be able to understand and communicate with all employees to receive training instruction and perform responsibilities.
+ Will work with the line team to meet the daily production.
+ Hourly records production on the tracking board in Pasting department.
+ Perform weekly preventive maintenance on machine
+ Meet daily production schedule.
+ Will be exposed to lead (dust, fumes, and molten form) and other hazards.
+ Comply with safety and health regulations for the protection of self and co-workers. Includes shower and shampoo at the end of each work shift.
+ Must learn to follow quality control specs and procedures. Maintain accurate and timely SPC charts.
+ Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
+ Perform testing as required.
+ Must occasionally operate forklift to stage at the pasting stations and/or move pasted plates to the ovens.
+ Follow Excel lean Manufacturing Procedures.
+ Comply with current Quality Systems Requirements - SQPC pack.
+ Perform other duties as assigned by management.
**Qualifications**
Physical Requirements:
+ Continuous standing, lifting, bending, and twisting
+ Occasionally required to work in extreme environmental conditions (hot, cold, humid)
+ Must wear personal protective equipment such as gloves, respirator, safety glasses, and steel toed shoes, hearing protection, etc., as outlined in established department PPE policy.
+ Must be able to do some heavy lifting.
Equipment Used:
+ Small hand tools, control panels, data collection equipment.
+ Molds for heat seal machine and small hand tools, control panels, data collection equipment.
Education, Experience, Skills Required:
+ High School Graduate or GED equivalent
+ Mechanical aptitude required.
+ Previous manufacturing experience helpful.
+ Computer literate.

* Familiarity with automated system management including HMI, PLC systems, or CNC equipment.
